I'll think about it in the next few days, I'd love if ithey'd all come back on one year deals though. Probably won't happen.

I'd look to bring Damon, Hairston and Pettitte back for 1-year deals. Pettitte being the most important because there'll be holes in the rotation. The rest of them walk. Damon I'd let go if there's something better out there for a reasonable price/trade. |

Pettitte, Hairston and Molina. And Damon assuming we don't sign Holliday. What's the situation with Wang? I would like him on a cheap/ minor league deal. |

Trade Cano for Kemp and sign Orlando Hudson. If Pettitte retires go hard after Lackey. Bring back Damon, Hairston. Maybe look into bringing in a guy like Vlad if you can get him on a 1 year deal to DH. |

Not sure what you are asking... but I'll give you the full story.... airport seemed cool (but f*cking small, for reasons I'll come to)... went to the Hilton on City Avenue. It was about 5pm on Saturday. Asked at the desk where I should watch the game and they told me some chain - Chickie Pete's, near the stadium.... I declined and went to an equally sh*t TGI Fridays near the hotel (a Hilton, I thought they were meant to be good) Anyway, the game was delayed; the girl and I were jetlagged so went back to the Hilton. At that time we were going to watch it get called off in the room, then it was on, so I went to the bar. To be fair, within 3 beers I couldn't help but slag off Hamels for being back to last year's form, and the idiots in the bar worked out I was a Yankees fan. They were surprised that I was British and knew about baseball, and hence I escaped celebrating the win (they thought they made a friend) The next day, during the day, we went into Phillie. Seriously, I'm an educated man. I went to one museum. What a shit-hole. We had lunch and went home (phillie was a 20 dollar cab ride away). The game; awesome - except if you ever want to get into a World Series game, let me know, because our tickets were not (as promised) at WILL CALL |

Anyway, the story continues, but the bits you care about are that espn owe me about 1000 dollars for the tickets and that when they say a game is sold out, they are lying - 4 seats open on lower deck near us on the 3rd base line |

Last, I've been to every premiership ground in the UK. Old Yankee Stadium would rank no 14 ish for atmosphere. I haven't been to the new stadium.... Citizens Park would be no 1 compared to the premiership.... our fans need to sort it out - seems like we have too many "exclusive" fans. |

I loved the fact that I wore my Yanks stuff and I just got "banter" back... it helped that I didn't care about the Giants. |

Why would the Dodgers trade Kemp for Cano? Kemp is younger, cheaper, might be a better all-around player, and doesn't become a free agent until 2013. I might wanna go after Lackey regardless of what Pettitte does. As of now, the rotation would be Sabathia, Burnett, Pettitte, Chamberlain and Hughes. Those two starting at the back end could be real bad, especially with the innings limits and what'll be the Hughes Rules. Or they keep one in the bullpen and Wang is the fourth starter. Again, can't count on him. So that'll be a tough call. If Damon is brought back, I want him here as a DH. Putting him back in left field, as a 36-year-old who's always battling a bunch of nagging injuries, wouldn't improve the team. So it wouldn't make sense to re-sign Damon and get Vlad. You'd have to pick one. |

Bring Pettite back for sure. Our rotation is thin enough as it is. And I'd be all for signing Lackey even if Pettites back ZZ Lackey Burnette Pettite Hughes (6th starter Gaudin/Ian Kennedy/McAllister/Wang?) with Chamberlain in the pen. Late game you count on Chamberlain, Marte and Robertson. I let Matsui walk. We need the DH as a rotating spot to rest all the veterans. Say no to Vlad...He's washed! Let Damon walk and replace him with Figgins or Holliday. Gotta get younger and more athletic. Resign Hairston. His versatility is valuable on a team with fragile veterans. Or you could consider DeRosa instead of Hairston... Keep Hinske. I like his power off the bench and again a versatile player. Get rid of that fat spikkkk Molina. I'm comfortable with Cervelli as the backup until Montero's ready. Let's go for #28 buys! Edited by YankeeBaseball, Nov 5 2009, 10:35 PM.

Wasn't it leaked that Torre said he doesn't wanna be with the Dodgers beyond next year? And if you're a smart GM, you don't trade a budding young star with maybe the most upside on your team because the God Pigeon is yapping about someone he managed three years ago. And after two disappointing playoff exits, this one thanks in part to questionable decisions by the manager, you tell Torre to shut the f*ck up. |

Nobody tells Torre to shut the f*ck up. Or he leaves your organization, screams about disrespect and then writes a book. |

I haven't given a ton of thought to who I want back or whom I would want as replacements, but I know that Chone "I think my name is Shawn" Figgins is a downgrade from Damon. Quite overrated. |

Figgins: .298 BA, 5 HR, 54 RBI, .395 OBP, .393 SLG, 42 SB Damon: .282 BA, 24 HR, 82 RBI, .365 OBP, .489 SLG, 12 SB They're just two completely different players. You factor in age and defense and I think the case can be made for Figgins over Damon but I'd probably stay away. He's going to get a huge offer from the White Sox and I don't think Figgins is the kind of guy you break the bank for. |

He lead the league in caugh stealing, he can't slug .400, and he hasn't played OF in 3 years. He isn't even close to the level of a Johnny Damon. He's also a type A free agent. Other than hit .300 I don't see anything he can do that Brett Gardner can't, and I don't consider Brett Gardner starting LF material offensively. |

Statements like that make you look like a fool. While I certainly don't think Niggons is anything special, he is a decent MLB player. Brett Gardner is not a MLB player. He just isn't. Give him any prolonged length of playing time and he gets exposed as the pile of shet that he is. |
