Matsui had a very nice Yankee career!! As much as he is the hero tonight, this should be the end for him. I honestly don't want to see him play for another MLB team. Hopefully, he goes back to Japan as the triumphant champion.

Where was he? Looks like the set of Letterman or one of them type shows. Using a translator must've really thrown off the flow of Letterman's not-funny jokes during the interview.

One of the 1050 guys mentioned yesterday that Hideki Matsui can speak engilsh. Said he met him in Japan and has HEARD him speak english. Said he couldn't understand why he didn't do it after recieving the trophy since it was such a big moment. Said it kinda bothered him.

Matsui apparently speaks English better than most foreign players but still doesn't feel like he's good enough at it for interviews like that.
