Let me be the first to say it.....BULLSHIT! Cutler is trying to build McDaniels up to bring him down. And if I'm right (which I am) then this is the reason why McDaniels was right getting rid of this self-absorbed jackass off the team. There is no room for someone like Cutler in a Belichick like system. Edited by BeanBoy, Aug 26 2009, 04:05 PM.

 I agree with that. If Cutler Really liked McDaniels then he could have worked it out and stayed in Denver. Instead he ignored the Owners phone calls and Bowlen made the decision to go ahead and trade him. Plus I think Cutler is scared and wants the fans to be a little more happy with him. The fans will give him a Big Invesco Cheer this weekend. And since your a Boston fan, I assume your a Pats fan. What do you think about McDaniels? Do you think he will be successful? |

I don't think Cutler saying that will have any impact on what the Denver fans think of him. Depending on how it was asked and its context in the interview, he might've just said it as a quick way around the Broncos questions and to avoid further controversy. If an athletes wants to move on, the best thing he can do is throw a compliment since the media chases after shit-talk. It's tough to judge how good McDaniels is because of all the talent he had. What they did in the record-breaking season wasn't special schematically. What happened, especially at the start of the season when Stallworth was contributing, was they had two burners on the outside who stretched the defense - especially with Moss killing double-coverage (and beating quadruple coverage from the Jets) and allowed Welker and the tight ends (Ben Watson got off to a good start) to kill the middle and underneath. Brady had the option of attacking high or low, inside or outside. Plus the pass-blocking was amazing and he was showing more consistent accuracy than he had before. He was putting passes more on the money than Peyton Manning normally does. They just had the perfect blend of great talent. Last year, the offense struggled at first with Cassel and then it looked like he simplified it and started throwing a ton of screens and slants to Welker and using Moss on in routes, curls and some shorter throws over the middle (Moss actually went over the middle). But, again, he still had an abundance of talent to work with. He'll have a different type of talent to work with in Denver. Royal is kinda like Welker, but Marshall isn't a downfield burner, so Orton won't be seeing the underneath open up. And the Broncos o-line isn't as good. Not to mention, Kyle Orton is Kyle Orton. I know he managed games last year (decent season with an alright TD:INT ratio), but the Broncos defense requires the offense to score. sh*t could get sloppy over there this year. |
