I think he has a better mental capability to be a more successful QB in the league then the king of Soft L's, Jay Cutler. Does he have the raw ability of Cutler, of course not. I think he has the better mental make up and work ethic to have a better career though. |

I didn't seem him much in college, maybe a few games, and I didn't think he was bad but there is a big difference between college at the NFL. I don't like that there wasn't much talk about him until just two days before the draft when he started his PR campaign. I keep getting this feeling that the Jets drafted him more because he can speak two languages and can be put on billboards rather than for his football ability. We'll see, obviously I hope to be wrong about the guy. |

A big part of Namath was his marketability and his charisma and the way he played up to the New York stage, I mean he had a few good years, but like Striz said, overall one of the most overrated players of his times. He did suffer a serious knee injury while still in college and obviously dealt with those knee injuries throughout his career. If not for the Super Bowl win (and prediction) and all the other sh*t that came along with his "Broadway" persona, he wouldn't be held in the regard that he is. Anyway, I'm not saying Cutler is some bum, he's a good QB, has the potential to maybe be an elite QB and win a title, just not sure he has the makeup to ever get to that level, but certainly has the ability. I think the bottom line is that the Jets are trying. They aren't some franchise sitting back idle. Going back to when they finally brought Parcells in, I think year after year they've made an effort. They've brought in many players over the years to make this team better. Most recently guys like Faneca, Woody, Pace, Jenkins, Sheppard and Scott most recently. Did Favre work out? Hell no, it turned out to be a disaster and he ended up costing this team. I honestly believe if we had Pennington we are where the Dolphins were. Division winner and a one and done team in the playoffs. However, I think the Favre move did show the Jets were going for it, making an effort. Favre gave you a guy when right who could have taken you all the way, Penny wasn't that guy. They were at least listening for a guy like Cutler but felt the cost was too much. They then decide to trade up and get a guy like Sanchez who does have the potential to be a very good QB in this league one day. I can't say they aren't making an effort. Doesn't mean it's always going to work out, but not for the lack of effort. |

They're making more of an effort that I give them credit for, I guess I'm just sick of seeing nothing work out for us and it's made me more cynical than I normally would be. I don't know what Sanchez will be. I'll give him that he seems like a team oriented guy and unlike Favre who I got the impression didn't want to be here in the first place, Sanchez does seem to be happy to be playing in this kind of market. |

To get this back on topic though, I can't say how thrilled I am that Brett Favre is back. I was looking forward to another season of hearing about this guy and his 'child-like' play on the field. He's just a little boy who loves the game and now he gets to get back at the team that wronged him. I mean how dare the Packers not want to be held hostage by this guy year after year? Brett Favre is a hall of famer, he deserves respect. This retribution is long overdue. |

I hope he gets injured. Like I said, nothing life threatening, just a career ender so we can put this baby to bed once and for all. |

It will make the two Packers/Vikings games more entertaining though, I have to admit that. I'd love to see GB take both those because that's all this is about. He wanted his revenge last year but there was no way in hell the Packers were going to let him go to a division rival. Now he gets his chance and one hand I think the Vikings look bad for going along with it but if you look at their other options I can also understand why they're making this move. They should be as close to a lock now for a division title as there is. |

What I like is how he'd said last year that he did want to get back at the Packers and then this year he told Peter King that his comeback attempts had nothing to do with getting back at the Packers and nobody called him out on it. I wish every chick could ride a dick the way the media does Favre's. |

I can't believe I'm saying this but I'd root for Brady and the Pats in the Super Bowl if they were facing the Vikings and Favre. |

I don't know if I could go that far, but after the garbage Favre pulled as a Jet, I certainly am not inclined to root for him either. |

Yeah, he's f*cking lying but idiots like Skip Bayliss and others at ESPN will believe every word this moron says. I'm sure it's not all about revenge (at least I hope it's not) but for him to act like this isn't about the Packers at all and for people to buy that is just ridiculous. I wouldn't expect him to stand up there and bash GB and say a bunch of sh*t but we all know the reason he's back. They could go 2-14 and if the only two wins were against GB for him, it would all have been worth it. |

Yea, Theres no way that Cassel is better then Jay. Matt would have went 3-13 last year with the Bronco team that Jay had. We had to score 30 Plus points a game Just to have a chance at winning. But w/e.. f*ck Jay.. Hes not my QB anymore. :crybaby: Instead I just have to support Kyle Orton. :laugh2: :bag: |
