Im pretty excited to see Belfort back. A matchup between him and Franklin should be a great standup battle. He's been on a good winning streak lately, including a vicious KO of Matt Lindland Posted Image

Tito is looking to fight late 2009. I'd expect him to be on the Rampage-Rashad card in December, possibly against the Keith Jardine-Thiago Silva winner.

Rumor is Tito will get Mark Coleman in his comeback fight. Coleman is 44 and clearly past it, but his wrestling and strength poses problems here. He was always a better wrestler than Tito. Let's see how age plays apart in this. I would say Tito fairly positively though.

It's a business move to bring Tito back, very few people like him but he'll get viewers. He should be able to handle Coleman and then get back to his prior status.

It's sad, because in his day, Coleman would have manhandled Tito.

You'd have to word it so the fighter would have to be engaged or on the ground himself to do it. Otherwise you run the risk of WWE style flying knees while a guy is down.

PRIDE used it, no problems. You go for a jumping knee on a downed opponent, it's risky and can cause you to lose positioning. Pride also had soccer kicks and stomps, which are tremendous weapons to fighters. Shogun was a beast with his stomps and kicks and it sucks he can't use them. And yes, using them properly in a fight are a trained skill Posted Image Posted ImagePosted Image

Knees to the head of a downed opponent are good because they punish the guy on the bottom cowering or turtling. Pretty much the same reason for soccer kicks and stomps. A guy gets dropped, he's fair game until the ref stops it. These things have existed and didn't result in any serious injury. They are legit weapons in a fight and make the fight more realistic. If a guy is on the ground in a fight, you shouldn't have to drop to their level to fight them.

that is why u dont see any pride fights in the u.s....ufc dosnt do it because they are sanctioned by the states athletic commission thats why u see ufc fights all threw the us...they do it to get more viewers and less protesters

Oh yeah. It's not the UFC's fault those manuevers are illegal. Their president, Dana White, has stated he'd like to have them.
