Yo B First off... I was bored 1 night and trying to find a Yankee message board that seemed cool. So I found this place.
Second... I didn't plan on posting much but then I started liking this place and reading the posts so I figured I'd keep posting.
Third... Everyone thought that I was Vinny and so I figured I'd keep f*cking with people and making everyone think that I was him. Me and Vinny go back like 4 flats on a cadilac.

Fourth ... U MAD??? :furious: :furious: :bag: :fyou: :fyou: :wall:
  One of the few if not only "new" guys who really stuck around and posted with us vets. Glad you found this place my man!

 I know Bro. I found this place and wasn't sure if I'd stick around or what not. I've been on other Yankee sites.. but a lot of posters are all stuck up and think thier the sh*t.. But this forum, everyone was an asshole but they were cool assholes.  You guys have been posting for like 8 years together and I just randomly joined.

Good stuff though. I still can't believe that we went about a year with people thinking that you were me.

I joined in summer 2002. I think there was a poll question on "Talk of our Town" that I wanted to chime in on. Went to MSG.com first and, obviously, didn't find it. After enough searching, I found that it was on the MSG Network site. Couldn't find the poll but I saw something about a fan forum. I'd never used or seen a message board before. Didn't know what it was. Read a little and I was like, "Ohhhh. So it's like a chat room except organized and everything stays up." I was intrigued by the idea of talking sports with folks from wherever. I think I joined on my first visit. Created the name "Strider," which had been my Napster screen name in 1999, and a spunky 16-year-old took the forums by storm. Don't remember if I started up talking in third person from the jump or if I waited a few weeks. The third person sh*t actually started in "real" life. I was a cocky sumbitch in my teens and a couple of my teachers were openly annoyed by my demeanor. So I figured a good (and funny) way to piss them off even more would be to talk in third person. Started in history class and then in other classes and friends got a kick out of me doing it, so I extended it into some regular conversations for the joke. Then I thought, "Why not do that on the message board?" Brilliant decision on both. My history teacher hated me (I ran into her at the movies one time and, since we were away from class, she called me a dick) but had no choice to but to give me a 96. And ya'll thought I was an asshole but couldn't help but like me.

I got banned from MSG on something silly. It was when everyone was getting banned and a lot of us were planning on leaving anyway. I was hoping to goad Admin into an argument and really embarass her (it was a her, right?), but she kiboshed that quickly. And it was before it got anywhere; banned for a relatively innocuous comment. After that, we were nomads. I don't remember which board was next. I remember we were on one for a while that was kinda dominated by hockey fans and I got into it a lot with one poster. Some guy who loved hockey and heavy metal and regularly made racist comments. Vaguely remember the YES boards. Do remember shitting on GehrigsGhost a few times. Yada, yada, yada... we came here.

I remember you on YES back in 2002. When we had PM's, I remember saying "Nice Rickey Henderson impression" to you. Yeah, I remember weird sh*t like this for some reason, just like Vin and Scioscia thing.

You said, "Thanks, my man," and other stuff after that. How I remember this, I don't know.

Because you've got every PM and every memorable thread saved and printed and you read through some of them before going to bed every night.

I know exactly who you are talking about, although there might have been about 5 of those hockey goons who also were racists and listened to heavy metal, so it might not be the same exact guy. I f*cking hate hockey fans who listen to heavy metal. :annoyed:

So wow alot has pretty much been already said. I'll do this in a type of timeline format.

July 2001- First came to MSG. Couldn't really tell you why I came to the message board. Had never posted on one before but I think I just needed somewhere to vent.

September-November 2001- Quite an amazing time. I remember how on 9/11 everyone did a roll call to see if everyone was ok. There was one poster in particular we were concerned about. I believe her name was Bern Dawg51. We hadn't heard from her (she worked in the city) but she ended up being ok. The playoffs were an amazing time obviously and to share it on the baords was really enjoyable. Between 9/11 and the playoffs you really bonded with the posters. Many have gone their seperate ways since.

July 2002- By this time MSG changed their boards over. We now had MSG 2. People really like the new digs. There is where I remember MM and Amit being more active. This is also the time I first met that loveable guinea Vinnie. I can't believe I known that cat this many years. I'm glad I have though. We used to rib eachother often (Sori/Tejada MVP debate) but it was all in good fun.

December 2003- MSG 3 starts. This is where the core people we have now all started posting. As mentioned previously, I wasn't much of a YES person. I was still an MSG loyalist. I met Rob and Andy through YES and was glad they settled into MSG 3.

October 2003- Aaron Bonne. Amazing time on the boards. Probably our greatest moment together.

January 2004- Well after all that MSG_Admin bullshit and the whole "code of conduct" crap we all made our move. It was tough to do but we had to do it. Rob made the first version of this board. Remeber we started at dave's place with all those hockey goons. For the first few months this place was CMNYY's like joke hideout. I'd browse by here and see CM make jokes that nobody ever saw!

April 2004- We finally come to our home here. A couple of name changes but we found our home. Outside of the met posters we've all stuck around these 5 years and stayed tight.

Thanks for everything!

Damn bro, you HATED Soriano!! I used to get so fired up when we would debate him, you had such a hard on for Tejada. No disputing it though, when he was on that juice he was one hell of a hitter, now he's turned into a punch and judy average hitter.

Anyway, it's been a blast posting with you guys. No doubt those chats were something special, come playoff time (fingers crossed) we got to get that going again. We've done it periodically for a game or two here and there during the regular season. If we make it to October I want everyone chatting!!

If the Yankees are in the playoffs, I won't be chatting on the computer. I'll discuss it here before and after the games though.

Let me first start off by saying, I don't remember the month or the date that I started posted. But I do remember starting around late 2000 or early 2001. I was bored one night on the computer and wanted someplace to vent about sports like Yankees baseball, MLB, NHL, etc.

Anyway, I started off on the YES Network Message Boards. I don't remember how and the when I joined MSG Network boards. There are other message boards I joined along the way and people I did piss off. :no1: I was still young. That's probably the reasons why I did leave along the way. Along with people constantly complaining about the damn spelling mistakes. Truth, that really helped alot and also pissed me off. That also took my heart away from posting.

I joined here in August 2004 and don't regret leaving or coming back as often as I have. I'm happy I learned my mistakes here and on other message boards. I also discovered my passion for broadcasting as I went to CSB in May 2008 and still have an opportunity to go back at another time in my life. So I podcast and I'll will say that I'm NOT the best but I try to be the best. That got me through school too.

The one and only BaseballFan4 despite my other user names.
