Okay, I started posting first at baseballboards.com which no longer exists, posted there the last month or two of the 2001 season and then eventually left for the MSG boards in the Winter of 2001. This was actually right around the time when I got my first computer after moving out the parents house almost 3 years earlier. I had been at my old job for almost 3 years and one of my supervisors at the time gave me her old computer. The thing was ANCIENT! I swear the Hard Drive was like less then 10 GB!!!!! I used my free dial up account that I received from my job which was doing over the phone tech support for AT&T Business Internet Services. I was running Windows 95 on that bad boy. I was so geeked! I setup my dialup account, amazed I got it to work and then found MSG and started posting! I then switched to YES after I was banned from MSG, can't remember if I switched first and later got banned but at some point as most of us who posted at MSG know, the admin was a Nazi and everyone seemed to get banned from the old crew. Good times, unfortunately I've never seen championship since I've started posting, I wonder if this message board sh*t is a curse sometimes. :no1: |

I was bored at work towards the end of the 2001 season and found the MSG boards. I just read posts on there until I joined right after the 2001 World Series loss and started posting. So I was at MSG for all three versions, moved to YES for awhile, and then followed you idiots to all of the other boards you created or merged with until we finally settled on this place. |

You were on YES? LOL, see I thought you were strictly an MSG guy. Oh wait, of course you were on YES, the whole spongey sh*t...never mind me! Spongey was a YES member not an MSG member. It's amazing, I used to have all this sh*t down pat, the memory goes as we gain years. :no1: I remember BC was pretty much MSG through and through, he had a YES account briefly but wouldn't post there, he always was in our game chats and what not we had going. I liked YES better, until the OTB took over and GG became the resident Pariah. Striz, he was MSG....I don't think I recall him on YES much. Rob and Drew have of course been everywhere I've been. Those two along with BC and Matty have been wherever I've been. MM.....MSG? Homie...MSG? I don't remember when and where Homie came along. Koc, he was just the crazy guy at MSG who would make ridiculous but hilarious posts and flame at all the other members, great stuff. How he would get banned and keep coming back is beyond me, I guess he had some IP scan going because after I got banned from MSG it kept decline me because my IP or e mail were banned or what the f*ck ever. Memouries. |

I started chatting in baseball chat rooms back in 2000. I had dial-up back then on a PC running Windows 95. I had MSN Internet Service, so I used the MSN chat rooms. I first visited the MSG boards in 2001, I signed up with an username like TheRocket22 or something like that, but I hardly posted. I posted maybe 4 or 5 times. The only posters I clearly remember are 473, 15always, and BronxBombers. I started posting hardcore in 2002, the first year on YES. I went to the YES Network boards and signed up with the name GiambiRocks25. I didn't get YES that first year thanks to Cablevision, so I listened to Sterling and Steiner on the radio and posted in game threads. A habit was born! I went back and forth on both YES and MSG that whole year. I got really close with Vin and GehrigsGhost that year on the YES boards when we decided to start our own message boards just for game threads. It was called Yankee Game Threads Plus. For some reason, we let some 12 year old boy set up the boards and he was the admin. It was a colossal failure. Nobody posted there but Vin, GG, myself, and that boy who we lost total contact with. God knows where he is now. Anyway, one day Vin and I went back to that site and the boy had turned it into some Zelda video game forum!! He was the only one posting! Since that failed, Vin and I decided to start game chats late that year, which were a huge success. We would post the link on both YES and MSG and it was just great. I was in the chat room with a few people when we lost to the Angels in 2002. I remember Zero being in there, as well as GG and a couple of other people. Very painful. 2003 came and again I bounced around YES and MSG, but I started leaning more towards MSG because YES was becoming a giant joke. GG fell in with the wrong crowed and turned his back on Vin and myself. He joined the OTB (off-topic bandits) who did nothing but talk personal sh*t all day instead of Yankee baseball. 2004 was the year everything changed. We all became pretty close after posting for a couple of years together. MSG started to become ridiculous, people were getting banned and getting warnings for the dumbest sh*t. Yanks473 being banned was the final straw, we knew we had to move if we wanted to stay together and post without being controlled by a Nazi. So the night 473 was banned, Drew and myself, and I think Amit, started looking for a place to go. YES was a joke and not an option. So we found InvisionFree and started this place! The rest is history! |

Homie was on MSG. When everyone went to different private boards, he got left behind briefly. When we settled in here, I went back on MSG and invited him because he was one of my favorites there. A guy I liked on MSG, who was actually around MM's age, was Berniebomber. He came here briefly, but didn't last. I remember he was older, but we shared the same birthday. Of course I was at YES. You're right, that's where all of the Spongey silliness went down. Remember all of those chicks who thought Spongey was some adorable little six-year-old girl when she was really something like 17? |

I joined YES in like February 2002 under the name "giambi25" but never really posted. I don't know why I made the new account of "Giambi_MVP_25" in April of that year, but I did. I then started posting a lot. I remember when I was in California of that summer, a few of you guys (Vin, GG, etc.) branched off and made your own invite-only board for some reason! This doesn't get talked about a lot, but I remember for a fact it existed! This was back when YES had PM's. They got taken away sometime later, but I don't remember why. Then the OTB took over and Vin, Rob and I jumped over to MSG full-time before that year was up. Then MSG1 became MSG2 around December 2002 and the rest is history. Damn, I feel like a loser writing this. :-| And Rob, Yankees Game Thread Plus was something separate from what became the Zelda boards! The Zelda boards was the first spin-off!! Yankee Game Thread Plus, lol!!! I remember making Magic game threads and what not, Drew would once in a while pop into those. I thought he was like my age or older, eventually found out he was only 12 or 13 and realized back then he was wise beyond his years. He'll have a bright future in whatever he does, no doubt. Rob is on the money, the game chats were so successful, unfortunately MSN eventually stopped their chat service and we were left with nothing. MSG and YES both became jokes, BC was banned and these boards were born but first we kept this place on the back burner and posted at Metro which was created by Dave/Neo, Koc's buddy if I believe. Those hockey goons were crazy!!! Oh yeah, I wonder what ever happened to that kid who made Yankee Game Thread plus a Zelda/Video Game board. I'll never forget when I went to my boards and there was Zelda sh*t everywhere, where the f*ck did we find that kid? lol |

Yanks473 called him a "Muslime" so he demanded that we ban 473 and Kocur and police this place better (he was a muslim tMs!). When we didn't he contacted Duffman (the guy who used to own invisionfree) and suggested he shut us down. So then Duffman put the board on probation and we had to cut out all the cursing and all that sh*t for a few weeks until he said we were ok. |

Zero almost got us shutdown, that was actually f*cked up what he did. I always liked him up until that point. Remember the DrewMista? I still got that cat on my AIM, same with Zero. I see them both pop in now and again but I don't talk to them. I chatted briefly with ETS on AIM not long ago, invited him back but he didn't seem interested, I guess I don't blame him, I said he could talk Mets in the MLB forum. lol Druew, you sure about that? I was almost certain that Yankee Game Thread plus became Zelda, but maybe you're right, my memory has become sh*t here recently. lol Actually I think you are right, I don't remember Yankee Game Thread getting ruined, I think we just left that place because it never took off. |

I remember us all being SO DEVASTATED after that 2002 ALDS. You have to keep in mind, it's the first time in 5 years we weren't playing until the bitter end, even in '01 it was devastating but we played till the final out of the season. It was so surreal to get knocked out in the Division Series. That guy with the flight info, Sorry, he was in the chats here and there. I remember we kept talking about the prolonged rain delay after Game 4 and that Clemens would be ready to take the ball any day now in Game 5 after the rains stopped. |

It's amazing to think about that now. Could you imagine not having Koc around? It's crazy that at one point in time there was a faction on here who didn't want him around. I was so committed to keeping him on the boards! I fought tooth and nail when pretty much I was in the minority when it came to wanting him around. God we would battle through the wee hours debating his status. |

I wouldn't put it past me! I remember back in 2003 during Game 1 of the World Series I was drinking a fifth of E&J and chasing it with Bud Ice 22's (many 22's) and I blacked out. I woke up the next morning a lamp was broke, there was a hole in my bedroom door, my wife at the time was telling me if I act like that ever again she's getting a divorce (1 month later she thought it was best if we separated; which is okay because I couldn't stand her anymore :bc: ) and then I went to the boards the next day and was reading stuff that I had no idea I typed or posted, I was a maniac that night! :bag: |

That Boone HR was magical. As soon as he hit the ball I started a thread titled "KA-BOONE!!!!" and posted a bunch of happy faces in it, then I ran to my mothers room and started hugging her. Then I called a bunch of people! I missed most of the celebration! Then a few minutes later I went back to my room and watched the rest of the celebration and posted on MSG almost all night. |
