This is what happens when sunshiney assholes think the Yankees will win games by throwing their gloves out on the field.

Even without two of their best players the Angels still own us. Pathetic. And f*ck the last few years, what happened in 2004 should be enough to get rid of the sunshiney morons.

it's alright. Nobody would be talkin that sh*t to me in person. I did 12 hard years. IRL, I would rip off his head and sh*t down his f*ckin neck....asshole COCKer. The Yankees will be just fine. Dream Weaver can't pitch against the Yanks - Saunder's ERA is like a 9 and John Lackey just plain sucks. There will be a short leash on Joba.
Yup the Yankees are fine alright. Slobba and Pettitte did a tremendous job and our bullpen took care of the rest.

I'd sign for having a better record than the Angels at the A.S. break.

Who cares? They're not in our division. Hell we don't even have to worry about the WC from them cause they'll win their division outright. Right now Boston is laughing their asses off at us for losing 3 games in the standings 3 days in a row. The Beckett/Lester combo is starting to look like the new Koufax and Drysdale while Pettitte and Slobba look like panting dogs that need to be put down. What a super all-star break this has become.

Any more predictions for the second half, nostradumbass?

We also had gained a bunch of games on Boston before we got swept by Anaheim so I doubt Boston is laughing their asses off. One thing is for sure though Boston would not have taken the last series off before the All Star break. Our guys probably had their families in LA and plan on going to Disney Land while Bay and Youkils are going to be scouting tape.

Boston is probably pissed they don't have a bigger lead on us, but I'm sure they're not sweating it. They can win this division any time they want. If it's a big game against Boston or Anaheim you can be sure the Yankees will lose. And unfortunately we get Anaheim again later this year and still have 10 f*cking games with Boston. :puke:

The last few years turned sunshiney azzhole rsj23terp into the New York Sports Jerk.

What's with having Marte in the banner anyway? That guy will never throw another pitch for the Yankees. He's the lefthanded, latin, relief pitching Carl Pavano.

You and I were never total sunshiners like these guys thought anyway. Fat Rob (Venom) sunshined all the time. We liked some big-name moves and knocked others, at times fearing a return to the 1980s, which people never understood. I suppose it's because they're a little younger than us and don't remember what those days were like. It means having many big names, making some good signings and trades, making many bad signings and trades, but most importantly, not having enough pitching to win it all. Back then it meant missing the playoffs because of the larger divisions and lack of a Wild Card.

One thing I'd like to see back is a managerial firing. Let Pena finish the second half of the season and find a permanent manager in the offseason. I don't want constant firings like George did in his heyday, but Girardi is not the answer. Most of us can agree on that.

Hiphipjorge is someone I recruited, but I don't agree with him at all here. The Yankees can't beat California and haven't been able to for years. I even have a policy that I won't go to those games in person because I suffered through a couple of them in 2005 or so when it was 98 degrees and muggy. As I sat there sweating my ass off, miserable that California dominates the Yankees time and time again, I decided I would not be attending anymore games against them.

I could care less that California has two less wins than the Yankees. It means nothing. Besides they're tied in the loss column, so it's nothing to brag about. What matters is that if the Yankees face them in the playoffs, they'll have little to no shot to win.

To be honest, Jorge and I don't know each other well as Yankees fans. We don't see each other often enough to know each others' viewpoints well. I guess I will get to know him as a fan if he continues to post here. I'm fine with him giving the optimistic outlook on here though. We need differing viewpoints to make this place interesting and we all know we need more people posting. So disagree all you want, but welcome his input.

It's the right move, but it will never happen. If Cashman cans Girardi mid-season it's the ulitmate admission of a mistake. You will not see them do that. I'm never going to root for the Yankees to miss the playoffs but I will say sneaking in as a wild card and then going down in the first or second round could do more harm than good because it gets Girardi off the hook. If we were to miss the playoffs for a second straight year I'd have to imagine he'd be canned. You can't miss the playoffs two years in a row here with our payroll and after the run we had before he got here. This organization has surprised me with some dumb decisions before so maybe he wouldn't be.

If Cashman fires Giradi now and they miss the playoffs again the media will be looking for another head to roll at the end of September and the only one left would be Cashman. If he keeps Giradi around for the rest of the year he can fire him and try to save his own job. Combine that with the fact that the Steinbrenners love Giradi and I don't think it's happening.

I agree it's not happening for the reasons YF03 and Moomoo stated. If they miss the playoffs, the Steinbrenners may clean house with both of them, but you're right that Cashman firing him now would be admitting a big mistake and puts his head out there to be next.

Cashman should fire Girardi then commit seppuku for all of his hideous decisions as GM.

seppuku
For those too lazy to read, Newman demonstrates seppuku at 0:32.
