He got smacked around and was lucky to only give up 2 ER.
The sunshine crew AKA The breakfast clubbers love those Johnny Come Lately Flash in the Pan guys.

How dare his ERA go up to 0.82 last start?

Tonight he tossed another complete game and his ERA moved all the way up to 0.84:

9 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 8 K

8-1 with a 0.84 ERA

He'd have to go 6-12 with a terrible ERA to match Rob's prediction. His stuff is too good to do that. These guys are either joking or lost. I actually make it a point to watch as many of his starts as possible now that he's this dominant.

He'll need to pitch like Wang has this season. Not happening.

Greinke had his first "bad" start of the year, but will end with a no decision and a 1.10 ERA.

He went 7 innings, 8 hits, 4 runs, 3 earned runs, no walks, and 7 strikeouts.

As Torre would say, "He battled and kept his team in the game."

I predict a gem next time out.

The fall has begun. This guy is a flash in the pan. I'd be SHOCKED if his ERA was under 3 for the year.

Seriously, it's funny how people jump on the Johnny come lately's of the world. Anyway, I wonder if Matty has a Grienke poster right next to his signed #23 Lebron jersey framed up in his bedroom. He seems to be a big fan. :gayheehee:

There he is, Matty's new boy. He has a shrine of him right next to Lebron!

On the real though, this guy has to do it for more then two months to prove anything to me. You breakfast clubbers love diving on the jock of people. STOP!!!! I bet you guys were all over Carmona in 2007. You were ready to build your team around Cliff Lee after last year. Don't get me wrong, Cliff Lee is a nice pitcher, but is he an ace?? I wouldn't want him leading my staff, that's for sure. Grienke has a lot to prove before a shove his cock in my mouth like you guys are doing!

And one more thing I want to throw out there, I don't think Grienke is some sort of f*cking joke out of nowhere guy. I understand he has great stuff, he's a first round pick and a guy who obviously had some issues to over come. I'm just saying before we crown this guy the best pitcher in the game and have a spew fest over here, let's see how the rest of the year goes.

0-2 with a 5.68 ERA in June. 23 Hits, 6 walks, and 16 R (12 ER) in 19 IP.

Honestly, I'm totally shocked. I was one of the moronic sons of bitches that thought he was going to continue on his pace to having the best season in MLB history. :bc:

The worm continues to turn on Grienke

8-3 1.96 ERA, his ERA will be over 3 by the end of July and by the end of the year he will be at the 14-12 mark or somewhere in that area with an ERA close to 4 just as I predicted!

10-3 with a 1.95 ERA going into July. He is still leading the AL in wins, innings pitched, complete games, WHIP, and HR/9. He is not, is NOT going 14-12 with a 4.00+ ERA. You honestly believe he will absolutely collapse and go 4-9 with an ERA between 5.00 and 6.00 the rest of the way? The more likely scenario is 8-4 with a 3.00+ ERA, which would leave him at 18-7 with an ERA between 2.50 and 3.00. Those are the numbers of a young ace, my friends. I still wouldn't be shocked at 20 wins, but 18 seems about right.

Tonight: 7/3

6 IP 4 run but only 2 Run earned.

Trailing 5-0 so it looks like he will get the loss.

ERA at 2.00 on the dot.

10-5 with a 2.12. I'll be serious here for a second.....no way he wins 20. Not going to lose 12-14 like I was saying. I see him ending probably around 16-10 with an ERA in the low 3's. That would be a pretty damn good record on a lousy team like he is on.

20 will definitely be tough at this point, although not completely impossible if he gets very hot and also gets run support. The win total was never really the point. The Boston kid's prediction would have been one of the best seasons ever on a pretty bad team. There is no denying that Greinke has turned a corner and is a legit pitcher in this league though. If he keeps his head on straight, I see no reason why he won't be an ace for years.

I think it was Tom Verducci who pointed out that only ten or so pitchers (he named them and I will try to find them) have ever struck out 200 or more batters and walked 40 or less batters in a season. Greinke has a shot at that.
