Bunch of f*cking morons! So let me get this straight... You don't even try for Jay Cutler, a good, young, established NFL QB 'because the price was too steep' (cry me a river, you have to give to get sometimes) yet you trade your first round pick, your second round pick and THREE players for a guy who hasn't even played in the League because you like his attitude? This franchise is beyond stupid. Look, I don't give a sh*t about Ratliff or really even Coleman or Elam but the fact that they didn't even seek out what the Broncos wanted and then turn around and do this really, REALLY pisses me off. I HATE this stupid organization, Sanchez will be a major bust and stuff like this is why the Juets will NEVER win a Super Bowl again.
I agree. A similar deal could've probably gotten Cutler. And Sanchez hangs his deep balls and doesn't have the tightest spiral. There'll be some wobblers in the Stadium wind. Unless they think/hope the new stadium won't have the same swirling winds.
Speaking of throwing into the wind, I find it hilarious that everybody who has mentioned that says 'well he's confident he can handle the wind there.' Well duh you idiots. Did they think he would say 'no I can't throw into the wind?' I swear these morons in the media really piss me off sometimes. Everybody and their mother who's heard Sanchez get interviewed has fallen in love with him. I love listening to the Mike and Mike in the Morning Show on ESPN but Greenberg has embarrassed himself more than anybody in the media when it's come to Sanchez. As soon as the two of them were done interviewing the kid earlier in the week before the draft Greenberg says 'I want him quarterbacking my team.' And why? Because he interviews well? Since when the hell has knowing how to handle the media and acting like a nice guy ever led to success? I don't care if a guy is a total jerk, if he has talent, I want him on my team, not because he can do a good interview and is buddy-buddy with the media.

And that's really the only this guy has done, I don't care about what he did on the field at the college level because there is a HUGE difference between college and the NFL. I'll be interested to see how he reacts to the first time he's hit. He'll probably start crying that they messed up his hair.

You nailed it on how they've fallen in love with him. And knowing people in the media, they really do get mesmerized by some athletes and become fans. I think they're a few people who it'll probably take Teshera hitting .217 in July for them to get in his ass because he's a good boy from suburban Maryland who has such great manners! I think any athlete who plays nice with the media, has a middle America charm, smiles a lot and has even a decent resume, they'll start slurping up and that guy's image almost becomes a shield.

Sanchez hasn't put an NFL uniform on yet and he might already have a forcefield around him. The guy was a projected mid to late first-round pick (in what was believed to be a sissy weak QB class) after the season. He didn't perform well at the Combine and a lot of people were saying that would cost him. That's when you started hearing the Josh Freeman buzz. Then all of a sudden, Sanchez impresses in the interviews at private meetings (and gets a 28 on the Woderlic, which really only proves he's not a retard) and starts making the media rounds and showing off his talking ability and looks: he looks like a white guy with some classic features and a tinge of Latino spliced in and that equals wet panties on GMs looking to push him for marketing. And he's bilingual, omigod!

And I think you should always be a little skeptical of guys who, when the college season ended, weren't regarded as elite prospects. When a guy hasn't put pads on in months and somehow shoots up a round by draft time, you have to scratch your head. The only one I agreed with was Philip Rivers. He was a projected 2nd rounder until the Senior Bowl and his interviews. But I liked him because he had +accuracy, +velocity on intermediate throws and I loved that he was a vocal, loudmouth leader and the type of QB who didn't think he was above the fray; the QB who'd run down field to celebrate with his receivers and 10 minutes later get in a lineman's face for f*cking up.

My belif on quarterbacks from great programs, who have great supporting casts, never really had to carry the team, and had everything in place around them: they better have a special attribute in order for me to use a high pick on one. Actually, any QB drafted high should have a special attribute. I don't think Sanchez does. His arm is about average, his deep balls float and don't have a tight spiral, his accuracy is pretty good but not spectacular and he's not that mobile. The hard part is judging his decision-making and poise since he played behind a great line, rarely had to throw under pressure and often had wide open receivers. Carson Palmer you take high (although I'll admit I liked Leftwich more than him that year) because when you watched him, you saw a cannon arm, excellent accuracy and textbook throwing mechanics. Matt Leinart, no. You look beyond Leinart's numbers and you saw a guy who wasn't mobile, had an average-at-best arm and whose intermediate and deep falls were wobbly and his one strength was accuracy. Then you look deeper and you find out he's a party boy who ain't that dedicated to his craft. But people fell in love with the USC pedigree, the winning, the numbers and his laidback Cali frat boy looks. I think Sanchez is a better prospect than Leinart (because at least he's got more zip on his intermediate throws and he did well without having as many superstars around him) but he's much closer to Leinart than Palmer.

I think the Jets made a great move getting this kid, but all the naysayers of the pick and all the people who are in love with the pick, it really doesn't matter. The kid will get his chance to show us and we'll then see the bottom line. People who cum over the guy or say he's going to be a bust, SHADDAP, nobody knows yet. I'm just here to give the kid a fair shake and I'm glad we traded up to get the Quarterback. This team needed a QB and then in my mind they did a great job trading up to draft Jones eventual replacement.

I tell you what, watching highlights of this kid Shonn Greene, I love what I see. Not the fastest guy in the world, but he can just carry people and is a beast out there on the field. I love what I see, Jets did a great job getting this kid. It's important to have depth at RB, and Jones isn't getting any younger. Jones, Greene and Washington will be a nice three headed monster at the back. I love it!

I actually don't hate the Shonn Greene pick but I'm not overjoyed by it either.

There is very legit reason to think Sanchez will suck, it's not a great pick, not for what we gave up. Especially when we could've gotten a far better QB who's already got a few years in the NFL under him for that same package.

I love the Sanchez pick and think he's going to be a huge success. Think Chad with a stronger arm. Great intangibles, very athletic, can throw on the run and will make good decisions. He doesn't have a canon but he has an arm that's comparable to Matt Ryan. I'd like to see him sit a year and get used to the NFL but I think even if he starts this year the guy is going to be a star.

I really like the Shonn Greene pick too. He's the type of inside runner with a pounding style that in the 4th quarter is going to be a bitch stop. Think of Baltimore with Thomas Jones as McGahee, Leon Washington as Ray Rice and Green as McClain. The Jets are going to be a very physical team and Greene is a perfect fit.

I hope it's a huge success, only time will tell and it could take a couple of years to really know. Either way, it's a great pick by the Jets! They had a need, a huge need at QB. They went up made an aggressive move to fill their biggest need. Anytime you have a chance to move up in the draft and fill a void, especially at the QB spot, it's a gamble but a gamble they had to make! I'm so stoked and can't wait to see the kid out there!

That's not true, the Bears also gave up their 2010 first round pick, the Jets didn't have to do that in this case.

This thread makes me sad seeing everyone talk about Jay Cutler :crybaby:
I'm gonna miss him. But I know that Yanksfan03 would hate him and not appreciate him. He would throw an INT and cost them the game and He would hate Jay and call the Jets organazation stupid for getting him.
I'm glad hes somewhere where he will be appreciated.

And Off Topic. But how about the Nuggets whoopin that Hornets ass. :bag:

Yea, sh*t was epic. I kept watching it and wanted us to win by 40. Then I was like, Damn I hope we can get 50. And then I was hoping we'd get 60.
But its only 1 win. I remember how happy I was when the Yankees won 19-8 in game 3. :bag:

I thought it was done, everyone did. Even Millar and some other Red Sox were wishing the Yankees luck in the World Series before Game 4. I'll never get over that series.

I knew that series wasn't done after Game 3. Despite what history said and despite what had happened in the first three games you still have to win that fourth one. When Mo blew it like a gutless bitch I know we were in deep shet. I won't ever get over that series but at least when we win a WS again it will soften the pain. Of course by the looks of it we won't be winning again for a while.

When Mo blew Game 4 and we lost it how we did, then I was worried. I won't lie though, I was convinced it was over after Game 3 as many did. I was dead wrong obviously.
