The New York Jets' first two home games are against two of the AFC's elite teams -- the New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans. A large segment of the team's fans might not be able to attend the heavyweight matchups, however.
The Jets' home opener against the Patriots is scheduled during Rosh Hashanah. The next week, the Jets host the Titans hours before Yom Kippur starts. The conflict with the two holiest holidays on the Jewish calendar may keep the team's Jewish fans who observe the holidays from attending.
New York boasts the country's largest Jewish population.
On Wednesday, the Jets called the NFL to complain about the scheduling conflict, according to the New York Daily News.
Howard Katz, who oversees the creation of the NFL schedule, took full responsibility for the oversight.
"The Jets are hearing from their fans," Katz, the NFL's senior VP of broadcasting, told the newspaper. "There was miscommunication between the Jets and the NFL office, for which I take full responsibility. All we can continue to do is look and see if there is a solution to this."
The simple solution? If upholding your religious tradition takes priority for you and you've got tickets to those games, give (actually, considering who we're talking about: sell) them to a gentile. I know that could be difficult since a lot of the hymies are cliqueish and mostly only associate with other Baumsteinowitzs, but they could try. No. They wanna have their cake, eat it, and then take yours to replace it. Watch this whining work, too. The lil' Danny Snyders and Mike Tannenbaums of the league will make some calls and the network executives will spike their yarmulkes in outrage, 500 shifty lawyers will get erections and the NFL will sh*t itself and rejigger the schedule to accomodate the Heebs. Just like how their complaining f*cked the Giants and Jets out of signing a naming rights deal with Allianz, which at the time had offered the most lucrative deal.
If you're a Jew who has a problem with the schedule, I hope you get pistol-whipped by some spooks.

Rooting for the Jets was their biggest mistake. It's rare, but I'll have to agree with you on that one.

That ship sailed when they got the new stadium deal with the Giants, YF03. However, silliness, you should never want your team to move, no matter how incompetent or terrible they are.

Easy for you to say when you don't have to deal with them.
