Pick up your phone and give Laverneus a call. The Juets just let him go. |

The Giants need a bigger receiver, since Eli can't throw passes on target. Plus Coles has lost a couple steps. I want Boldin. If they can't get him, go cheaper and get Marvin Harrison. He's old and doesn't have the pure breakaway speed he used to, but he's still one of the top 3 route runners in the league, has great hands, is smart, almost always where he's supposed to be and can work the middle. Plus I've heard the Rams might cut Torry Holt. If that happens, he's the guy. Don't waste money on a possession receiver like Houshmandzadeh (I can spell it without looking it up). Or they could make that trade for Tony Gonzalez (the Chiefs wanted a 3rd, I think) and use more twin TE sets. |

I wasn't happy when the trade for him happened and I certainly hate it now. The funny part is, most Juet fans were acting like we were getting a superstar player, somebody who could make a difference and put us over the top. :bc: Even Coles part I wasn't a superstar, a very good player but nothing spectacular. I don't know why everybody and their mothers were throwing a party when we traded Santana Moss for him. |

To me the trade was a wash at the time. I was never huge on Moss, didn't trust his durability and didn't like his size, but he had the best year of either since the trade back in 2005 when he caught like 85 balls for almost 1500 yards, Coles never has had a year that has approached that but neither has Moss again. Coles was never a superstar like you said, but I did love his heart and grit and guts he always displayed, and he always put up very good numbers. On top of that he clicked well with Chad but Chad wasn't the same QB the 2nd time around, Coles came here after the surgeries which only made a weak arm worse. I wish Coles the best but glad we are moving on. |
