Joel Sherman, baseball expert. Thank God he doesn't run my team, that's all I can say about this stupidity. Any team that signs Manny knows what it's getting, he thinks he's the only one who knows what happened this year? Please. We know Manny isn't a hustler, we know he sucks in LF (although once in a while he pulls some great plays out of his ass). All the Yankees would be doing is paying him money and asking him to hit big home runs, which is what he would do.

Any time you invest in a 37 year old you're taking a risk, but this is one worth taking. Somebody should've taken this article and told Sherman to shove it up his ass.

What a stupid article. That's like writing an article about the sun rising and the sky being blue. Who didn't know all this shet already?

Joel Sherman gets the Bill Heyman, John Madden treatment from me. They are all irrelevant people who don't even deserve to have their names remembered in the sports world.

Who cares, they were close to signing Albert Belle one off season. That bat is worth it.

Very well written. He reminded me why he used to be my favorite writer.

And he's right. I agree with his assessment of Manny and we all know that it'll get ugly at some point and the team will tire of his bullshit. But I disagree because I think his production far outweighs his bullshit. Especially if he's a DH. Except for not running out grounders (on balls he'd have been out by two steps on anyway), most of his nonsense goes on in the outfield. That's why I think he should be on an American League team. Glue his ass to the bench, 'cept for four times per game when he goes to the plate. Manny isn't Odell Thurmon; he's not [pick a player off the '00s Trailblazers]. He's managable and he can be checked. Just like Plaxico Burress isn't [pick the NFLer]. Paul Schwartz had a great piece on Plaxico's problems stemming from immaturity and irresponsibility, not hooliganism. I think Manny's of that ilk. He's not a thug who can't be controlled or someone who you have to worry about committing crimes. He's not someone who can "destroy" a clubhouse. He's just your friendly neighborhood dickhead. Managable. Certainly on a team full of veterans.

People like MM who think Manny doesn't "deserve" to be a Yankee to begin with.
