If we don't get Texiera, what are we gonna do at first? First of all, forget Giamroid, Vinnie! Damon and Matsui aren't real first baseman, Posada is adament about catching and Miranda is a green untested rookie... :scared:

Word is that the White Saux will shift Swisher to first and make Konerko available. This last year, Konerko went on the diabled list for the first time but he's dedicated himself to come into camp in better shape. He plays some good defense and hopefully his offense will come back too. In the 4 years before last year when he was hurt, he averaged 37hr and 105rbi. The guy's only 32 so he's not ova the hill yet.

Considering his poor year this last year and that he will make 12mil per over the next two years, we might be able to get him cheap in a trade, for say Ian Kennedy? Konerko would dramatically improve our defense, hopefully provide some above average offense and he could work with Miranda with the idea that he could take over.

:peace:

A Damon-Konerko swap is the most likely if the Yankees were to go after him.

A write speculated Nady to Atlanta for Kotchman makes sense but i'd like to see Nady for a full year but he's far from untouchable.

Like they can afford to trade Nady with the list of gutless/useless feckers they have in the outfield! If anybody goes its Damon based on the fact he is closer to the end of the line!!

Agreed. Keep Nady. He works hard and is a good all around player. :peace:

Trading XNady would be stupid, especially for a pile of garbage like Crotchman.
