Big lefty at 6'5, throws some serious gas, struck out 77 in 67 innings. Would be a reall major piece of the bullpen. White Sox don't have a true leadoff hitter and I think you could maybe even get Chicago to include an additional prospect. Jeter could slide back up to the leadoff spot or if Gardner takes the job and runs with it all the better. |

No. Because the year before, he had a 4.79 ERA and 1.5 WHIP. Middle relievers are so up and down, year to year. It's not worth it. Plus the Yankees aren't in desperate need of a reliever. What Damon adds means more to a team than what Thornton might bring. And this isn't exactly an offense with .300 hitters to spare. They need as much quality in the lineup as they can get. |
