Ian Kennedy and Alan Horne to Texas for Jarrod Saltalamacchia. Saltalamacchia is apparently availabe as the Rangers like Teagarden better. He's a switch hitter with big time power and is real young. Posada is going to make the move to 1B/DH eventually and with the price tag on Teixeira you might as well make it now. From what i've read Horne could be pretty good but we have a glut of righty relievers and for a potential long term starter at catcher I think it'd be worth it. Robinson Cano and Hideki Matsui to San Fransisco for Matt Cain and Kevin Frandsen I know they said they were going to work with Cano this offseason but I have questions about any guy that needs a coach on his ass all the time. He may in fact turn into a perennial batting champ but I think you deal him while you can. Cano and Matsui would probably hit 3rd and 4th in an anemic San Fran lineup so thats why I think they'd be willing to trade Cain, a potential ace. Big righty with a power arm he gets a ton of misses and at 23 would be a staple in the rotation for awhile. Frandsen is a valuable utility player that can play anywhere on the field and at 26 may improve enough to become a starter at 2B. Sign Orlando Hudson to play 2B and bat 9th. He'd improve our defense a ton and be a solid player. |

Matt Cain, with his 91 walks and 3.76 ERA in that pitcher's park in that pusillanimous twat of a division, doesn't translate well to the big-boy city in the big-boy division in the big-boy league. And this Ferdinand fellow is a nobody. You don't trade two guys who could potentially (yes, that word can be a mother f*cker, but these guys have at least shown it before) hit .300 with 20+ homers and drive in 100. They've both been All-Stars. Cain and Francis have never been sh*t. If you're gonna move Cano, try to do better. That deal would be like the cute - not hot, but cute - chick in 10th grade who doesn't realize her own worth and settles for the nose-picking douche from U.S. History class. |

I like the idea of Cano to LA for Kemp or Billingsley then sign Hudson to play 2B. |

That's a deal I would do for Cano. Makes our team much better. |

I like this deal as long as we sign Hudson. I'm also not convinced that SF would even make Cain available. :dunno: |

Like Strider, I'm not impressed with Cain either. I think Billingsley would be a better investment if we're going to deal Cano for a pitcher, though I think I might prefer Kemp to be our CF. |

The Texas Rangers would laugh in Cashman's face, hang up, call every other GM in the league, and have a good laugh with each telling them about the Ian Kennedy and Alan Horne offer for Saltalayarmulke. And Cano + Matsui is way too much for Cain and whoever the f*ck Fernando is. Cain is NL trash, 14 losses and an ERA approaching 4 in that division, in that league, is equal to 18 losses and a 5.12 ERA in the AL East. Cashman needs to just sign the f*cking free agents that are out there. There is NO NEED to get cute with trades. There is no need to deal an All Star 2B for a pitcher, when you can keep that 2B and just sign a pitcher who will be better than any guy you can trade for! |

Salty has been just as disappointing as Kennedy has been if not more. Texas has 3 young catchers that are better, and they have a TON of holes. That trade would not get laughed at by anybody. What do you think they are going to get for him? You sound like me. |
