He's 15 for his last 50 since being called up, that's a .300 avg. If this guy can hit anywhere between .260-.300 next year, he has to be the center fielder next season with Muelky backing him up. LF - Damon SS - Jeter 3B - A-Rod 1B - Teixeira RF - XNady DH - Matsui C - Posada 2B - Canoo CF - Gardner Not my dream lineup by any means, but I'd be fine with that. |

If healthy and we improve the bench that lineup should still score 800 runs. |

I don't love that lineup but beggars can't be choosers so I'd be willing to deal with it. Unfortunately we know Abreu will be re-signed (3 years, $30 mil) and I'd be willing to bet Muelky gets to start in CF. |

Are you crazy? He's making $16m this year and is going to hit .300 with 20 HR and 100 RBI. No way he takes a $6m pay cut! Cashman will give him 2 years, $32m :cashman: |

His MO throughout the minors was that he sucks when initially promoted in-season. He usually improves the next year. Who knows what will happen when that jump is to the majors though. I still think he'll end up a good 4th OFer type, which should make a fine stop gap if the rest of lineup is hitting. |

I'd be ok with Gardner as our 4th outfielder, pinch runner, defensive replacement type. :peace: |

Yeah I think thats all we can hope for to be fair to him. Unfortunately on this team thats good enough to start on next years squad. If he ends up similar to a dave roberts type we can't complain. |

Is there any fight left in the dog.....?

JUST SAY NOOOOO! He isn't a player I would go all out for....you know his best days are long gone, he has outlived his shelf life on the Yankees...put some scrub out there before tying that kind of money up on Abreu! I'd rather watch a cheap weak hitting Melky out there than watch this chicken shet SOB lose or drop routine fly balls because he's afraid of the wall! |
