Rays benched Upton for a day because he didn't run out a ground ball yesterday. This is the kind of thing that Girardi needs to do to send a message to all the slackers that it won't be tolerated! :fyou:

No way that would work with these fat, lazy millionaires.

Retardi would be forgiven by me for a month for his retarded managing, maybe even two months, if he charged the field and laid a player out cold with a haymaker on the temple or chin. Of course, those coddled millionaires would get their lawyers and get a restraining order, so Retardi would have to resign in disgrace.

Nothing Retardi does would make me forgive him for costing us more than a handful of games this year. He sucks.

I'm glad someone noticed it too. I swear, in April, I was getting the distinct impression he was a pretty poor manager. By May, my fears had been confirmed. I still think he's getting a pass by the mainstream crowd.

The injuries give him a built-in excuse. There's also the "inexperienced" card that I've seen pulled out by some here. I think both are bullshit. The guy is just a moron. It's the same stupid decision time and again.

I didn't see the 9th inning yesterday, but apparently Damon was up with 1st and 2nd 0 out and he DIDN"T have him bunting to put the winning run at 3rd, 1 out?

Nope, he let him swing away. Naturally, Damon whiffs and then Jeter hits into a dp. :lmao:

He simply has no baseball instincts. No idea when to bunt, hit and run, steal, have batters holding up, assemble a lineup, when to pull a starter, etc. You name it, he does it wrong

Pretty much. I already hate him more than I did Torre. I hope in the coming years, since he's going to be here, he will improve. But like with some of our young players, I don't like what I've seen so far.

Managing ain't like playing; there shouldn't be much of an adjustment period. He should have stopped making idiotic decisions in May. April was his learning curve.

He studied too much under Torre and all of the stupid rubbed off on him. <_<

On top of that...apparently in FLorida they don't know much about baseball....because he didn't get any complaints about his managing there...it was his friction with the owner that sent him packing from what I remember. Giradi has become our Art Howe! :puke:
