Right now, who is the most overrated player in baseball? At this moment, I have to say Robinson Cano, who is a great but still doesn’t get it; he should be following the lead of Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez, but instead he hangs out with some very wrong people and doesn’t always hustle.
The Big Lead had a nice interview with him and that's one of the things dropped in at the end.

He's a waste of talent, no question about that. But I don't want him learning from that cocksucker Derek Jeter. Like that asshole still has any kind of work ethic.

He's certainly tradeable at this point. A lazy mofo that already has his millions. What's left for him to play for? And I still contest he cost us a lot of games even last year. He's being a great glove and he could always explode with the bat if he got his head right. But that's a big if now. Apparently, rumor is he's an alcoholic too. It'd be nice if Cashman gets him out of here this off-season. We could always sign a glove like Orlando Hudson or a nice player like Mark Grudzielanek to fill 2B and get something really solid for him to fill a hole.
Could we feature him to Colorado for Matt Holliday? Tulowitzki and Cano up the middle for them. Worth a shot. And enough with the splits non-sense. Obviously a player is gonna have better stats at Coors. He's hitting .317 with a .920 OPS on the road. He also is 17 for 18 in stolen bases.

Ditto
and heyman's reasoning doesn't make Cano overrated, it just means he's stupid and wasting his talent.

Nobody is suggesting giving Cano away. We're banking on other teams appreciating his talents and his decent extension. MM, you telling me you wouldn't listen to offers for Cano, who's turning into a headcase?

NOBODY said to deal him for crap. We're talking other teams studs and prospects at positions we could use. Hell, maybe an ace out there. f*ck, I was skeptical to do him for Oswalt, despite Oswalt being an ace. We're not shortchanging his value

It's a matter of talking with teams. I'm sure there's some gem of a trade that can be made for this guy. The Dodgers are gonna be minus Kent most likely next year. You think we couldn't get a shitload out of them? He's probably worth more traded than here. And what about the Holliday notion? A scrappy superstar player for Cano? You wouldn't do it?

I wouldn't do him for Oswalt (no homo). Oswalt is what, like 31 or 32 now. And he's another smaller pitcher who gets dinged up. He's kind of like Tim Hudson in that he pitches with problems, but you never know when that big injury is going to hit - as it did with Hudson.
But I'd be open to trading him if the right deal came along. No question. If the Dodgers would cough up Matt Kemp (who has high-average potential, comparable power and steals bases), I think I'd go for that.

and the Dodgers would be open to it, because of the Torre-Bowa connection

Because they're gonna have a hole at second base and it's easier to find an outfielder with offense than a 25-year-old second baseman who has .330/20 and Gold Glove potential who Torre would probably vouch for.

Exactly. Oswalt is a ****** too and that female build can't hold up much longer. I suggested Kemp before and I like the idea a lot.

You've noticed that ass wiggle thing when Oswalt walks off the mound, right? Mike Hampton had it, too. Something looks "queer" (both meanings) about his delivery.

I'm still partial to the idea of making Pavano throw 250-300 pitches his first start back up here then doing janitorial work to earn the money he stole the last four years.

I'm gonna take credit for the first part of that idea. I'd said it last season. That following his surgery, I'd bring him up and make him pitch complete games on back-to-back days and hope his arm explodes. He'll never contribute to the Yankees and he's already caked up off them, so you might as well ruin his career and put him through another surgery out of spite.

They've got to do something. It's absolutely despicable what he pulled. If you or I did something similar we'd be in jail.

I'm not giving up on Cano yet.
I'm not either. Cano during the Allstar break worked out a lot with his Dad who knows him best. He needs to play in the Mexican league in the off season to get him ready for next year.

Yeah, that's the ticket. Listen to his dad and play in Mexico. Why didn't the Yankees think of that?!

Larry Bowa is what's needed.
