Nobody cares about the undercard, but I got Maia by submission and Gamburyan by submission.

As for the main 3 fights-

Florian vs Huerta- This could be fight of the year. Two lightweights with relentless paces, solid striking, and top notch ground games. Florian has the edge everywhere, but Huerta has showed a lot of heart and survived in some tight spots. I'd be shocked if this fight sucks. My prediction is Florian will win the fight by a cut. He has those razor sharp elbows that can cause some bad cuts. Unfortunately, I think that ******, who intentionally tries to win that way, which I think is BS, will get the win that way. Either that or a fast paced 3 round submission or decision

Lesnar vs Herring- Style-wise, this fight is pretty much matched up well for Lesnar. Herring has a history of bad TD defense. He gets taken down relatively easy and Lesnar obviously has some of the best takedowns in the sport. But this fight is going to show us a lot about Brock IMO. As easily as Herring gets taken down, he's not easy to finish on the ground. He can take a beaten, as evidenced by his fight with Fedor. Lesnar is going to have to work. It's possible Lesnar basically lays on top of him for 3 rounds and gets a decision, no doubt. But with the pace Lesnar has fought at in his first two fights, I can't see Lesnar not getting tired and leaving himself open. Herring could end up pulling a submission or testing Brock's chin if he ends up back on his feet and Lesnar is too tired to take him down again. If I had to predict, I'd say Lesnar takes a decision here, but this fight isn't a lock. One thing I will say for Brock though is if he finishes Herring, he's the real deal.

Fitch vs GSP- Fitch has an 8 fight winning streak, going up against the best in the world at 170 LBs. Fitch is a good wrestler, but GSP is great. Fitch also has a knack for getting in and out of trouble in his fights. If GSP gets him in trouble, the fight is probably over. I'd like to see Fitch make a fight of this, but I'm seeing GSP winning a stoppage in the 1st or 2nd. I'm expecting a submission. Fitch always gets caught in chokes, but works his way out. Not with GSP holding on.

I'm rooting for Herring. I want Lesnar to be a success in MMA and think he will, but Herring comes off as a good guy and he's a tough bastard. Hard not to like him.

Wow, is Lesnar massive. He dropped Herring with a right and totally swelled up his face immediately.

Lesnar wins round 1 easily. He dropped him with a right and landed a takedown. He used no energy up either. Herring's face is a mess and he really didn't land much other than that first right

Round 2 for Lesnar. He's just controlling Herring. Lesnar is too f*cking big to get up when he's on top.

Lesnar's punches and kicks seem brutal. Herring buckled under a knee to the body as if a tree hit him

Well, that was a pretty easy decision for Lesnar. 3 of 4. He looks absolutely mammoth. How the f*ck is their only 15 LBs difference between the two? Herring survived to decision like I figured, but the fight wasn't close

Fitch surprised me and survived a lot and made it to a 5 round decision loss. 4 out of 5 for the night,

Did you order the PPV?

I was at work so I couldn't see it, but ChannelSurfing.net had it, so I had a friend watch it and let me know what was happening in the Brock fight.

Lesnar in his last fight was caught in ankle lock by Frank Mir and lost, even though he was winning big -this time he takes on Heath Herring - a guy many put in the top echelon of fighter and Brock blitzed him...hit him with a flying right hand that sent Herring down in the first 2 minutes and bloodied.... he also humbled Herring terribly - Herring likes to thump his chest about being a badass from Texas - he couldn't move v.s. Lesnar...Lesnar controlled the entire match and even taunted the guy and waved on the crowd ala pro wrestling ....If Lesnar continues to be motivated - which he obviously is, I see nobody stopping him - give him a year to fight Fedor or Courture - I don't think they can handle his mass , speed and strength...he's a cartoon freak....
The fight is on Youtube already - just search, it's in 3 parts ...

I think GSP beat Fitch

Now, here's my problem with UFC - I'm not paying $44.95 to watch....the sport doesn't bring more than 12-15K to the arena , while it is cult popular - it's price is absurd.

A UFC event, should be $19.95 until it goes mainstream ...So I applaud the people who tape the fight and Youtube it the next day ,.. I can wait 24 hrs to watch the sh*t for free....no problem - but if it were 20 bucks I may buy it...

Yeah, I watched it. Lesnar fought a smart fight. He learned from his mistake against Mir. That shows some solid maturity. He didn't go apeshit like last time and get caught in a submission. Hell, he didn't even fall into Herring's usual trap of giving up his back and then reversing and ending up on top. It'd have been weird seeing Lesnar on his back. I think this Lesnar would have destroyed Mir.

The question now is who is next for Brock Lesnar. Too bad he's not in Affliction, since there are a slew of Heavyweights to go around. UFC is lacking depth there. The only two possible matchups I can see being next for him, maybe 3, are Gabriel Gonzaga and Cheik Kongo. Possibly, Mark Coleman doesn't drop to 205 and they have that match that was supposed to happen yesterday. As I see it, it's gotta be Gonzaga. What a test that would be. Gonzaga is a World Class jiu-jitsu practioner, so Lesnar would have to worry about getting submitted for sure. Also, Gonzaga is a beast size wise and has very heavy hands and kicks. That'd be a great measuring stick for Lesnar right now.

And Kocur, UFC buyrates beat pretty much all the boxing cards. They do very well PPV wise. I hate that PPVs are in the 40s and 50 dollar range, but UFC will never have to go down to 19.99. They ARE mainstream

Does Affliction do PPV? and how could White let his HVYWT Division slip so poorly?

Affliction does do PPV. The UFC has always had an inferior HW division. They had a chance to get Fedor when Pride went under and they blew it. And for how popular they are, they don't pay as well as they could, so some fighters have left for better money,.

Word is going around that Lesnar's next opponent will be Cheick Kongo. I was thinking they might do this matchup. Herring just beat Kongo though, so this is kind of a step down for Lesnar. But Kongo keeps improving all the time, so I'll look forward to this fight all the same.
