It's kind of good that he put up a start like this to remind people of what he's fully capable of doing for a full season if they extend him. I can't help but feel he's playing for the money. Is it coincidence his best two seasons in recent time despite declined skills has been on his last year of a contract?

Yes. He wasn't healthy last year. If you extend on a year-to-year basis that takes care of your conspiracy theory anyway.

The clock has struck midnight on that gutless asshole for sure. I wouldn't be shocked to see the guys in the pen start sucking ass next.

So one bad start and he sucks? You can't be that shortsighted. If this goes on for a month, get back to me. I'm hoping it's just one bad performance and he goes back on a roll.

I was drunk and irrational last night, I would sign him still if you asked me now but if this starts to become the norm in the 2nd half I will change my tune on this. I've always said in regards to Mussina that he "must keep this up" before I bring him back. ONe bad start, I'm pissed, but not ready to burn that bridge yet.
