Owed 25 million over the next two years and the Braves are going nowhere. Having a very solid season (11-7, 3.17) and has had success in the American League. Would a Melky-Kennedy led package be enough to land him? Flex the financial muscles and take on Mike Hampton's contract for the rest of the year and cut him immediately if we could give up lesser prospects. Wouldn't mind having Hudson starting every 5th day instead of Rasner and Ponson. |

And the Marlins are paying for Hampton's contract, the Braves will gain nothing trading him. |

Atlanta is on the hook for the rest of Hampton's contract, Florida only paid up until '05. Atlanta Braves Contracts I'm not sure what direction the Braves are going. If they do wind up trading Teixeira why not deal Hudson also? Mark Kotsay is their starting centerfielder and is a free agent at the end of the year. Getting an arm like Kennedy, a centerfielder and maybe another solid piece as well as some financial relief and maybe. |

Someone needs to beat the sh*t of the GMs that are in baseball these days. You can't get a valuable player like Hudson without giving up a shitload if you're the Yankees. |

My Jeep has been breaking down of late, but I am willing to drive to Scranton, pick up Kennedy, cruise by the Stadium to get Melky, who everyone knows I want to hold onto, and drive down to Atlanta. I'll drop them off, put them up in a hotel as they get settled in, then drive Hudson back to New York, all at my expense, if they would take Moomoo's trade proposal. |

Hudson is a guy I'd be willing give up Cano for, I think. If the deal were for instance Hudson and Kelly Johnson for Cano, Kennedy, Cabrera, and Horne, I think I pull the trigger. |

Nah. Because Hudson is 33, has a declining K/BB ratio and is somewhat injury prone. He's never had that big, season-ender, but he's always nicked up with something. You don't give up Cano for someone whose somewhat questionable. |

Lincecum is probably one of the few guys I would trade Cano for. |

Feck it, I "might" trade him for Halladay, if Halladay was 4 years younger. Cano has the potential to be a hall of fame 2B, so there are few people I would trade him for. |

He's made 30 starts in all but two seasons in his career. Also, he's an innings eater, averaging 225 IP per season. Maybe Cano is a bit of a stretch, but you're not gonna get him for that bullshit moomoo threw out there. |

Like I said, he doesn't usually miss a lot of games, but he's always got some kind of injury. A tight forearm, a pulled hamstring, shoulder soreness. He takes the mound, but there's always something bothering him. Looking forward, that's not good for a 33-year-old. I know there's no way the Braves would take that deal. I don't see Melky having that much value (especially to an NL team that doesn't see him enough to fully appreciate his overrated defense) and Kennedy shouldn't be worth sh*t to anyone. Coming out of USC (and his last season there was mediocre) the book was that he doesn't have standout stuff but he's polished and poised. We've seen how not-standout his stuff is and I haven't seen great poise and control. The biggest selling point for those two at this point is youth. And young crap only stinks a little less than mid-career crap. If the Yankees were to seriously make a move for Hudson, they'd either have to throw in one of the top prospects or load them with a bunch of a mid-level guys. I think Austin Jackson and Alan Horne (although he's 25 and has a 4+ ERA right now) gets them talking. |

Thinking about it, Cano's too much to give up. I do think that if the right offer came in, I'd trade him though. Orlando Hudson is a free agnet this offseason, and I've always liked him. I would't mind trading Cano for a Cole Hamels/Felix Hernandez/Scott Kazmir type of pitcher and signing Hudson in the offseason. |
