why make it so early if you're Pittsburgh? why not wait until 7/31 and hold Tampa bay over the coals?

The Rays have always been impossible to deal with.

Good question. I've always wondered why teams make deals when they do. Like the NFL draft. It's real annoying that they take every second, but they're trying to get the best they can get. Maybe had they waited til July 31st, someone blows them away or the Yankees get desperate and give them something else. I'm not complaining though. Glad to get Nady

The Pirates are crazy about Ohlendoof, they probably value him more than most people, and they got a top prospect Tabata.

They got what they wanted and they pulled the trigger. You don't wait just to wait, you never know if the Yankees decide to go another route and you end up not getting what you wanted.

Honestly, it seems like a fair deal. Tabata was pretty highly considered and Nady isn't a superstar. Plus, Pittsburgh was high on AsshOhlendorff.

The Pirates contacted the HHM. :peace:

Yeah, they love Ohlendouche, that was a big part of it. Plus they get Tabata, who still; has a lot of future in him possibly.

They could potentially have a stud outfield of McCutchen, McClouth and Tabata, get a guy in Ohlendorf who they like and two other arms. Not a terrible deal and I guess they thought it was the right time. Might as well get those guys time in their system.

They got guys that won't cost them any money, unless Tabata is the real deal.
