Life as a Yankee fan has been rough since 2004, however, we do have 26 championships, more than any other team EVER in sports history. 2004 changed a lot, but now if anything the Sox are closer to our equal then just being are whipping boys. |

The Yanks stopped winning titles when I started following them properly. |

I'm declaring Amnesty Week. Switch from Yes to No and get 70% back on your bet. |

I still say yes, it's just set up so perfectly. All these painful losses, then they'll go on a little run to sneak in. Most of us will get all excited, even though we'll try to tell ourselves not to get too hyped up, you can't help it as a fan. Then we'll all get our hearts broken again. |

Would you really get excited to somehow get in, just to matchup in the ALDS with the Compton Coons? |

Unless they win the WS, I have to admit even I'd have a hard time getting excited about just making the playoffs. In fact, this year more than any other just making the playoffs could be the worst possible thing. Now I know some will say "you have to make the playoffs to have a chance." Well yeah, that's obvious, the problem is, we know this team isn't winning a WS with this pitching staff and pathetically inconsistent lineup yet if we sneak into the playoffs, a minimal amount of changes will be made and it pretty much guarantees the return of Giambi and Abreu. Nobody in their right mind should want those two shitheads back. |

I've gotten used to them losing in the ALDS, and that's not a good thing. I don't even get upset anymore because I expect it. It used to make me sick for a week. However, I'd much rather do that than not make the playoffs at all. It's not like this is the NBA where it behooves you to miss the playoffs and enter the Lottery. Even if Giambi and Abreu finish strong, and Abreu has been really good at the plate of late, they have to take the chance to get the draft picks (still worth that risk), and start anew in some areas. Nady can play right, a first baseman can be acquired (Teixeira in a perfect world or a smaller name via trade), and DH becomes a little less crowded (Matsui should also be traded, if possible). |

Another reason I can't see this team making it- They can't hit a good fastball. This team for years was capable of hitting the good pitchers of the league, since they could take any fastball mistakes, including good pitches, for hits and HRs. This year, I swear, you put them against a hard-thrower, they are toast. This was a team that could win Pedro Martinez vs Ramiro Mendoza matchups. Now, we can't win Gil Meche- Andy Pettitte matchups |
