I'm watching it tonight and I forgot how friggin funny this movie is. I think what steered the movie wrong was the focus on making it serious, as if somehow it could be another Taxi Driver. Is there any greater comedy build up than when DeNiro is hyping up the "greatest ballplayer he ever saw" and Coop ends up being some guy from Little League?

The Barry Bonds movie! Classic, hilarious movie.
I always yell "Hey BOBBY, GO BOBBY" at King Haku.

I'm heartbroken. I IMDB'ed the movie and Coop is dead. He was the greatest pure athlete Gil ever saw. Then he's working at a garage. What a waste

That was Rayburn's fault. Like Gil said, "A simple thank you would have been nice"
