Homie, I am not comfortable dealing Gardner without seeing him play a while on the big club....especially with the state of this outfield. Also, I would think Melky is more valuable to the Yankees right now than he is to Colorado.

So you are in favor of bringing up Gardner and giving him some of Melky's playing time? Otherwise I don't see how he'll get a look and at 24, he gets less valuable every year. As far as Melky having more value to the Yankees, his only real value at the moment is defense and Gardner has that so I don't see his particular value at this juncture. The Rockies could use him to make Willy Tavarez a 4th OFer finally. Tavarez is having a pretty dreadful year. I agree though, for Fuentes (and the 2 picks they would be getting), the Rockies should get more than Melky, I figured Kennedy would be the center piece.
Long story short I don't think that gets it done either.

Every team is going to want one of the young pitchers.. Melky and Gardner won't make or break a deal.

Referring to the Melky part, not Kennedy.
