Because Cash's plan is to throw enough shet agains the wall and they will eventually see what sticks when it comes to pitching! Its not like this team is going to do anything in the postseason! Barring a MAJOR miracle...that ship sailed for good when Wang ran the bases!

Since you read that article about Micah Owings and found out he was in discussions with the Yankees (but probably never offered), he's been struggling a lot. His ERA in the NL is over 5.00 at this point.

I'm just glad they're not stuck with him for most of the second half of the season.

I'll take him over Olendorf any day. :peace:

Lets not confuse the issue.......they needed him to have any chance of getting there! After that it was pure LUCK as to which WANG showed up! ( The whore or the excellent starter)

When I said that it was true. Now he sucks.

YB Michah "nobody has said I was offered to the Yankees" Owings, now has a 5.18 era in the National League.

Bleed, that plan is fine except Traber has already not stuck to the wall, and as a loogy provides minimal value even when he is pitching well. The only reason he's up is because Cox got hurt, Robertson can't stop walking people, Patterson was trash his last time up, and Britton, Bruney, and Albaladejo are all hurt. It was basically him or scott strickland.

Oh I know Homie....I'm just saying, its basically sink or swim every game now for all these relievers. They are going to be shuttling the rest of the season with Wang out now!

You're in bad shape when Latroy Hawkins is only your 3rd worst reliever. I want Traber gone for Robertson, I want Ohlendorf gone for Cox as soon as Cox is healthy.

I can see them not wanting to put Horne or McCutchen in the pen just yet, since it doesn't look like a playoff push is coming and it will help their development/trade value to stay starters.

This bullpen needs an overhaul.

Hawkins, Trader, and Ohlendoof need to be off this team.

When I said that it was true (Sound familiar?). Micah was the better bet than Olendorf etc.

I'd still do the deal. Micah still has upside just like your boy Hughes. Olendorf on the other hand, just throws hard and straight. That will never change. Think Farnsworth minus 5mph.

Owings upside is nothing like Hughes upside. Not comparable at all. Ohlendorf had tons of movement on his fastball until he moved to the pen and gained like 5 MPH on his fastball. It could come back, but it won't as long as he's in the bigs over throwing. Also I think you meant Farnsworth minus 1 or 2 MPH. Ohlendorf can hit 97, I haven't seen Farnsworth over 98 in a while.

Again, its all moot, because as far as we know Owings was never offered.

Abreu starting to piss me off too. He's turning into one of those high, empty batting average players. .330-.340 OBP + .450 SLG is NOT getting it done for a RF with sh*t defense.

The worst part about Abreu is that he's cemented into that #3 spot in the lineup. Even when he's struggling, it's ridiculous.

Exactly. They have 3 of the top 5 hitters in the AL, 4 of the top 15 OPSs in the AL, and Abreu hits 3rd? At this point Damon would even make a better 3 hitter.
