The Reds took a power hitting college 1B with the 7th overall pick and may give him a major league contract. Kennedy would probably have more success in the NL central, Gonzalez could probably start right away at short and Cox could be in their bullpen right away. It still might be enough but it's a thought. |

I guess we'll consider that progress since it's more then just an smiley face. By 2011 you may be able to contribute something more then a "Day-Oh Me say Day-Oh Day Baseball game thread" to the board. |

We might have to include a better prospect then Cox but I don't think it's that terrible of a deal for Cinci. You have to wonder how high they are on him if they do in fact give a guy who can't play anywhere else on the field a Major League contract. |

Why the HELL would they trade Votto?! I don't care if they drafted Superman. |

So if the Reds drafted Superman and he was a 1B only you don't think there would be any reason to trade Votto? Superman? Think before you talk. :peace: |

Good idea Moo Moo. Win-Win. Ignore MM. He's a senile old codger, who disses every original idea. He's still listening to his 1920's Victrola and mumbling about Roosevelt's New Deal. :onebyone: |

If Votto didn't steal 24 bases two years ago I'd say he reminds me of Tino. |

Giving a draft pick an MLB contract has nothing to do with how they feel about their current young guy. Hughes and Joba aren't on the trading block because Andrew Brackman received an MLB deal. |

I'll admit the trade idea is wishful thinking but you can't compare giving major league contracts to pitchers to major league contracts with a 7 figure signing bonus to two guys under the age of 25 who can play no where else other then 1B. |
