Isn't it seem how much better our pitchers looks when they get the offense we all expect the Yankees to produce. The Yankees must figure out this beginning season funk.....I truly believe the weather extremes too kill these older guys...Teams on the West coast have a definite advantage. But then again the Red Sox started out alright.

What is this Jogging out of the Box to watch your "Home Run" go off the wall !!! Second time I've seen this happen recently. :annoyed: Arod cost himself a triple, feckin Jaker! :fyou:

If I was Manager, that would be an automatic fine of 1% of your salary. Thennnn you wouldn't see anyone loafing. :wall:

7-0 game. Not only is it dumb to risk the injury, but some people (whom I don't agree with) would call it bad sportsmanship. If he does it in a close game then I'll kill him for it. In a 7-0 game I could care less.

:please: I want EVERY play run out. This Jaking breeds poor habits and could cost you a game when it counts. Just ask the Muets. It cost them the World Series.

I've never seen A-Rod not hustle when it matters. He's just like Jeter in that regard.

Traber sucks. was up 0-2 and then went to 3-2. If not for great plays by Arod and Beatamit, would have been a double driving in 1-2 runs. :fyou:

(Cashman's the only GM I know who plugs in a "Lefty Specialist" who has a .370baa from lefties. :smirk: )

If I'm at a two day track meet and the trials (first round of a race) take place day 1, and the finals arer day 2, I'll tell an athlete to slow down during the trials if he's winning the race by a comfortable margin. I'll do the same thing if there is a race early in the day and the athlete has races later on.

When it doesn't matter, it doesn't matter. You want A-Rod sprinting and diving into every base when the Yankees are up 7-0 so he can end up like Wang?

Silliness.(tm)

Terp and I went to the game, as did Drew on his own, and I dought(tm) any of us had a problem with A-Rod tonight. Were you conflicted with your Yankees and your Padres facing each other?

I was pissed that he didn't run hard and didn't score on that grounder. I said to my friends (and Matt as well) that only A-Rod can get people to hate him after hitting a home run and a double.

Let me tell you something. Mickey Mantle had disease on both legs and both legs always bothered him bad. He always ran like no tomorrow. But on ARod's money he has many tomorrows, doesn't he. That being said I love an ARod that consistenly gets big hits and helps the Yankees win.

Arod's one of my favorites, but ya got to run out every ball no matter who you are. In that sense, Pete Rose was the greatest.

Although I'll agree that Rose bowling ova Fosse in the All-Star game (since it wasn't a real game) was excessive. :peace:

He's great. He has reached official Mattingly23 will be very careful to rip on him status.

To the people here who praise Rose, I bet they'd be calling him a soft lesbian because of his .303 batting average. If Jeter (other than this year) hits over .300 and gets ripped, so would Rose.

:please: Silliness from the King of Silliness. The only context I referred to Rose was his hustle, which is undeniable. But I still think he should be in The Hall. :agent:

He still frustrates me to no end when he starts to press and swings at everything.

This is stupid. Hustling is one thing, sprinting and diving all over the place up by 7 runs is stupid. Everything has to be taken in context. A-Rod hustles every single play when he needs to, when he's up by 7 runs why would he risk hurting himself in anyway or even draining his legs when he has a game the next day. There is admirable behavior and then there is just plain not playing smart. The way Pettitte was going A-Rod didn't even have to be in that game anymore.

He's getting paid $30 million. The least he can do is run hard four or five times a game. The triple's the most exciting play in baseball, and I wanted to see it. :-(

That said, there are other things about A-Rod that you can rip. He's normally a hustler, so I'd like to think last night was an aberration.

The amount of money he makes is even more of a reason for him to protect his body. That play where Jeter dove into the crowd was exciting too, but if he did that up 7 against the Padres I'd call him a stupid asshole.
