If Wang is out a while; who would step up

Geisse is the most likely replacement until Kennedy comes back

Kennedy will probably get the spot once he's back

Daniel McCutchen pitched a complete game shut out last night with 4 strikeouts and no walks

Alan Horne was decent the night before going 6 innings, giving up 3 runs, 3Ks/BBs. He probably won't be an option just yet.

Igawa hopefully is only a wild card at this point

Why is Ohlendorf in this game instead of Geisse?

If it is serious, no dought it's time to sell. No way this team is doing anything with him out for an extended period of time.

This is going to be one of those weird injuries. What the hell could he have done to his foot?

Oh crap..never thought of it..but Peter Abraham is speculating it could be his achilles tendon from the way he reacted. :wall:

The point of trading away chips for Sabathia would have been to pitch with Wang

I doubt that. He was pointing to the foot and not the heal or back of the leg.

He'd also collapse to the ground like Vinny Testaverde. Pete gets on people all the time for speculation and he's doing the same thing.

I doubt they would refer to an achilles problem as a 'foot' problem.

Yeah, he would have been straight to the ground if that was it, he wouldn't have been able to limp home like he did!! He would have either went to the ground or hopped home on one foot.

I've seen people aggravate their achilles and finish races. It all depends on how severe it is.

Whatever the problem....I have a feeling it will be enough to finish his season based on the fact that he couldn't put pressure on it...they better figure out what they want to do ASAP. Either they try to make the playoffs...or they become sellers and try to leverage what they have in tradeables for the future. Without a legit starter to take Wangs place....a guy I wanted out of here, I admit, they are pretty much sunk....even with Moose's incredible performance to date.

They won't be sure until Chien-Ming Wang exits the Carl Pavano Memorial MRI tube tomorrow

Before reading articles I try to guess what the lead will be (don't know why, but it's become a habit) and I was waiting for one writer to throw in "Pyrrhic victory," because it's rarely used and would be apt in this situation. And I don't know if George King should've taken the joke route for this, but that sh*t was funny.

The Lisfranc injuries are a mother f*cker. The ones I've seen happen on the most standard plays. Strahan hurt his on a pass rush against the Texans. He had his usual setup, went with the rip move and all of a sudden he's hopping around. I figured Wang might've twisted his ankle rounding third or pulled a hamstring, but he looked fine until about 15 feet before reaching home. And there was no awkward twist or bend. It might just end his season. Strahan was out seven weeks, but it essentially ended his season. He came back - just for the sake of coming back - and wasn't effective. The same season, Justin Tuck injured his and was out for the year. We obviously don't know the extent of the injury, but if it f*cks a football player up that bad... And it's in Wang's push-off foot. If he gets the rest or surgery option, I think he should get the operation and forget about this year. It's not a championship season anyway.
