Just saw Sanchez got put on the 60day DL. I thought he was supposed to go on a rehab assignment later this month and perhaps help us next month. Hey Homie, what the feck happened to the guy??? :wtf:

Homie and I were discussing him recently and were wondering what he was up to, and then I saw it mentioned in a blurb on Yankees.com that he was beginning to throw off a mound. He can rehab while on the 60-day DL and it was probably retroactive to some date in March. It just opens up a spot on the 40-man roster, which offhand I believe was used to add Ensberg. I think midseason in the majors would be a best-case scenario. I'd rather he take his time rehabbing in the minors than try to rush back quickly like Dotel did, especially since he has no MLB experience to date.

I think the Yankees knew Sanchez had elbow issues, and were still willing to deal for him, but I have not followed what has happened with Whelan or the other cat.

Really? wow, good for him. I assumed he'd be DLed. Not really the point either way since the trade was made knowing Sanchez would need surgery and the other two have minor injuries. Infact Whelan is currently throwing BP sessions.

He didn't play today. They have him listed as day to day until the swelling in his finger goes down.

Sheff isn't Sheff anymore. I'll still do the trade if given the chance again.

It's a rehab assignment. I believe it's his first time in game action since Tommy John Surgery.
