Wang/Melky/B Level prospect. Do it. Offer it to them. I think it's a fair deal for them. |

Wang would suck in Minnesota. His ground balls would roll to the wall half the time. Wang isn't going to get it done. |

A guy who has won 38 games the last two season certainly could headline a deal for him. Wang will only cost pennies to the twins. |

VC 4 Life.

It'd be great if we could get Santana with Chinese Whore being the only pitcher we have to give up. However, Hughes, Chamberlain or Kennedy would be demanded for as well. |

There are some siilarities to Wells and Bush for Clemens in that trade. At first I read it and thought it wasn't enough, but what are they realistically going to want? Hunter will be gone, Melky is only 22 and playing a very good CF while hitting a little. They aren't getting Buccholz and Elsbury let alone Buccholz and Pedroia, and this trade is almost as good as the former. Wang's upcomming arbitration years might be an issue. Don't know if I like it or not since Santana is a free agent after 08 anyway, and this trade would probably mean giving Minnesota our first round draft pick and a supplemental pick for Hunter. |

Then the bottom line is we should have plenty to get the package done without giving up Hughes or Joba. The Twins are going to trade him to somebody, we can't just wait on him to become a free agent, they aren't just going to let him walk. We have to ante up and we might even have to overpay. |

To me Santana being traded now is closest to Randy Johnson being traded to the Astros. Freddy Garcia + Carlos Guillen(at the time) + John Halama is roughly equal to Alan Horne + Alberto Gonzalez + Chase Wright. Now Garcia was younger than Horne, Guillen had a higher offensive ceiling than Gonzalez(with much lower defensive ceiling), but this is the closest compairison I could come up with with our farm. It will take more, but shouldn't take much more. Everyting I'm hearing is much more. |

I'll take his down year of 219 IP 183 Hits 235 Ks 3.33 ERA HE had 15 wins, if he was on the Yankees that would have been 19 or 20. |

Whoever Santanta is traded to will sign there so he'll never make it to the market. The Yankee package is a good one. |

33 homeruns is a bit concerning. Can't argue with the rest of those numbers though. |

HRs are way too high, kind of like Beckett in '06 with the HR numbers. |
