There are black actors... Not really. Outside of Denzel, Morgan Freeman and Samuel L. Jackson there are now good mainstream black actors. If 50 wasn't gonna play this part it would have been another "rapper" like Mos Def playing that role.

Lizard King Posts: 12,948 Group: Administrator Member #3 Joined: January 29, 2004	In the last three years all of the following black actors were nominated for Oscars: Forest Whitaker Will Smith Djimon Hounsou Eddie Murphy Terrence Howard Jamie Foxx Don Cheadle Morgan Freeman The only reason I could see for him being cast is if the role is of a mid-20s gangsta, and even then, I'm positive there are better options. I guess they cast him to take advantage of his commercial appeal.

#1 ATCQ fan! When will they be back?! Posts: 95 Group: Members Member #378 Joined: May 2, 2005	How about Mekhi Phifer? He's not in his 20's anymore, but I think he could pull off the part. Anyway, I'm looking forward to another DeNiro/Pacino movie. They were good together in 'Heat'.
