4 years too late. BTW, great move by Cashman giving him two guaranteed years instead up just picking up the one option year.

Just look at this man :suicide:

The option was for 17 million dollars. Think of this as them picking up his option and having him next season for only 6 million dollars. The market price for a pitcher comming off a year like he had last season is comfortably higher than what Cashman paid.

The 2008 version of Musstinka won't be worth the gum on the bottom of my show let alone 6 million dollars. Cashman tried to get cute once again and it blew up in his face. Now I know why Brother Koc has turned his back on this team.

Cashman needs to be fired and made Minor League Personel Director. He can handle the kids just fine but he can't put together a major league club by himself.

Mussina this year and next year is easily worth much more than the current or 2006 Greg Maddux, who has been eating innings for good teams and got the Cubs a gold glove caliber SS.

As for your second point. It can't be easy to fix a team that was pretty messed up before you even took over. What Cashman is and has been doing will be appreciated once a lot of these garbage contracts come off the books and young players/projects are playing for the big club. Maybe Cas will still be here, maybe he won't.

Mussina's best night is a night when Maddux has the flu. I suggest you mail Maddux a letter apologizing for what you said. Back in the day Maddux was called the "Bulldog." If we were to call Mussina the "Poodle" I'd be insulting that entire breed of dog.

The "messed up" team Cashman got was a team that won 100 games three years in a row and won 2 pennants. But oh no it was messed up because Tampa signed Womack and Jaret Wright. The best deal the team made since Ruth was made under the Tampa faction when they brought A-Rod in and totally shutout Cashman. Levine is a power broker who dealt with all kinds of hardasses when he worked at City Hall. Cashman clips coupons out of the sunday papers and has Sheryl Crow on his iPod Shuffle.

I don't care what Maddux was called. Its 2007 and he has been mediocre at best in the sister league in pitchers parks for some time now. He's no better than Mussina, who I admit has sucked this year. Its actually pretty obvious.

If you honestly think Tampa did more good than harm then you don't know what you are talking about. Those teams were ok, but it was clear to anyone who isn't intellectually disabled that all the backloaded contracts for declining players and depletion of the farm system would take its toll eventually. Cashman is rebuilding on the fly and corking the holes the best he can.

Last year should've been his last year. This is why I didn't want him back and don't understand why many people were happy about him returning. He's a complete loser. Need a big win, don't count on Mussina.
