I watched a Scranton game on MiLB.com a few weeks ago and saw it for the first time and thought it was sick. I read recently that it was rated a 70 on the scouts 0-80 scale. Meaning its a plus plus pitch. He also throws 90 with the fastball so its not like he's Chris Hammond.

He lit up the gun at 91 tonight and the change was devastating. He threw strikes and struck out the only 3 players he faced... I'd say it was a pretty good debut.

If he can control that fastball he could be very much like Keith Foulke.

Great MLB debut for Edwar......but I remember Homie saying something about him way back that had me a little concerned. Plus, lets see how well he does after players get to see more of him...but for one day at least...it was nice to see, and at least know his stuff is legit...he's really got talent.

The fact that he's 87 pounds kinda worries me. If he does well, how will his body hold up with the inevitable overuse that Torre will put him through?

These guys need to take him out to dinner. A lot.

You are dead on with thaat one.....how will the overuse by Torre impact this kids ability and confidence. It won't be the first pitcher Torre has effed up.

Rivera: 6'2" 185
K-Rod: 6"0' 195
Edwar: 6"3' 150

Nice job bringing up 2 guys who weigh 35 and 45 pounds more than him! The guy is a twig, thinnest player I have seen in a LONG time. Either you didn't see him pitch yesterday and see how ridiculously thin he is, or you are blind. Which is it?

I like that he wears the K-Rod glasses. That means he's good. Then again Farnsworth wears the same thing.
