The Yankees should sweep the three game set with ease. I see no reason why the Yankees should not get the broom out.

The Mets are in the midst of a dismal funk that has them losing 9 out of the last 10. They have Alou and Chavez on the DL and Alou is being thought of in the same terms as Pavano with the Yankees. They just got Green back from a 2 week stay on the DL, Beltran earlier hurt his knee in a collision at 1st base and now has quad problems and claims he is only at 83.56754328919876%. Right now he is hitting like the Beltran of 2005. Carlos Delgado’s mind seems to be on his new born because it sure as hell hasn’t been on baseball. His numbers remind you of Dave Kingman. Reyes has cooled down and Valentin is playing with a brace after being on the DL for a partial tear of the ACL. With the injury to LM and the ineptness shown by Ben Johnson the Mets have been platooning Ricky Ledee and Carlos Gomez in the outfield. Ledee sucks and Gomez is in over his head at this stage of his career. Recently the starting pitching and middle relief for the most part has been poor to mediocre. The only advantage the Mets have is they play in the Sally league and are thus still in 1st place.

Many Mets fans have been screaming for Rick Down to be fired but he seems to be Willie’s lover. The same fans are becoming irritated with Willie because his approach to losing is the same as Torre’s and his game managing is not as good as Torre’s.

So it should be a bad weekend for the Mets.

I honestly think it's more likely the Mets sweep than vice versa. I do think the Yankees are the better team, and I consider the Mets about 8th or 9th in all of baseball, but I've followed the Mets routinely enough to realize they got something that other teams don't get a lot of, and that's luck. Things will break in certain ways for them where they end up with the W and they really didn't deserve it, kind of like Endy Chavez HR being a difference maker or Cano throwing a ball off his shoe and that's just their two against the Yankees. Also, I consider Saturday an automatic loss with Clippard. The Mets will rake him, since he'll probably be nervous and have nothing. That just leaves Friday or Sunday later.
