Moose out after 6 innings 80 pitches?!?! In comes Bruney and friends. I've said it 100 times, and I'll keep saying it, Torre is the main reason the bullpen is always worn down. It's not always because the starters can't go deep, a lot of times it's Torre's stupidity! |

Bullshit, he was cruising along without a problem at all, he retired 12 in a row!! There was NO reason to take him out. His arm wasn't going to fall off if he went another inning. F*ck Torre and his bitch ass pitch counts. These baby-sh*t pitch counts have been costing us all season. |

I almost want Myers to fail every time, so he can be cut and get the f*ck out of my face. |

He was gassed in his last start after 5 innings, so he probably was this time too. But yes, Torre does mismanage the pen. |

Stop being stupid. If all he does is fail when it's a blowout, it gives Torre the "Eh these pitchers aren't the same with big leads" excuse. Every time he comes in and does the job like today, it means Torre is going to continue to trust him in big spots against lefties. And we all know he's going to fail at the most important times. |

Not a blow out ya dope but more than a 4 run lead. Watch him bring in Farnsworth to start the 8th  |

Torre is a douche. Nicely written Rob, I can't even think logically and write a nice argument when he's going with his dumb sh*t. You're right. He overanalyzes, overthinks, overmanages, mismanages, etc when it comes to the pen. God forbid the game went to extra innings. |

He friggin played the matchups with Myers on Brad Wilkerson tonight. He uses Myers as a lefty specialist, who isn't even that successful against them, for mediocre left-handed hitters. That's overanalyzing and overthinking, since it takes out better pitchers for that shitstain and strains the pen. I know he doesn't deserve credit for thinking, but he does it. It's just once a game and it's wrong. |

Don't look now guys, but if you take out that 1/3 of an inning Farnsworth pitched against Minnesota he's only given up 4 runs in 14 innings (2.57). In the games I've seen him in the slider has been really good and his fastball looks livelier than I had ever seen it last year. He gave up an earned run that night against Seattle, but on little pissant singles. I'm just sayin |

Sure would be nice if it stayed that way all season. He's got a great arm....we just haven't seen it here for whatever the reason. |

If he gave it enough thought or analyzed it enough (or sh*t, just looked at the stats), he wouldn't have brought Myers in to face a .250-hitting lefty. I'm not giving him any credit for analysis or thought. He just runs it by what he thinks the book dictates. Oh, lefty batter late in the game - go with the lefty specialist, regardless of game situation or the stats. And after the lefty gets his man, we'll bring in another righty to face the righty. Then in September: "Gee wiz, Gator. I was looking at the number of appearances for these guys. The bullpen's been overused. How did that happen?" |
