Horrible security work. That guy was on the field for awhile, and actually got himself some TV time. Might encourage others. I wouldn't mind it though if it was an attempt to pop Torre. |

I want to puke. Kay is praising Jeter's range to his right. When I first saw that, I was thinking easy double play, and then he barely got that ball. |

Matsui only caught that since he thought it was an eggroll. |

I don't see him being washed up. He's going to go on a tear sooner or later. End of the year he'll be around .300 with 100 RBI. :-) |

He may not be washed up completely, but he's a shadow of what he was pre-winning Home Run Derby. His game has dimished immeasurably. 2005 First Half .307 18 HRs 58 RBI .526 SLG Second Half .260 6 HRs 44 RBI .411 SLG 2006 Season .297 15 HRs 107 RBI .462 SLG, even after coming here and hitting .330 and a honeymoon period to the AL where he went .357 in August. That's a good year, but all things considered, remember he was playing in that bandbox at Phillie, and the hot streak he caught when first coming over, that's hardly worth the money, and I feel is a sign of a continuing decline. I'm sorry, I really think he's closer to the last half of 05 and first half of 06 with Phillie in that bandbox than he is the Abreu we had last second half. |

I agree. I was very skeptical and didn't want him last year if you guys recall, I felt he was a Mondesi type problem(Laziness and no respect for the game) but he convinced me last year that he is capable of gret things as a Yankee. I still believe come the end of the season, like Venom said , he'll be at or slightly above .300. The one area I see him not catching back up in is the long ball. Somehow he's lost that extra pop in his bat. |
