Clemens signing is GREAT news, but it's still going to be about 3 weeks until he pitches. Between now and then, we need to piece together the #4 and #5 slots in our rotation.

Raznor was great today, he's earned himself another couple of starts. He isn't great, but it looks like he knows what he's doing out there. It will be a mistake if the Yankees send him down after this game.

No doubt that Raznor earned a ticket to stay in the Bronx. With Igawa being a little bitch that he is and not knowing what you are going to get from him at all, Raznor has been pretty solid in his short lived Yankee career, and looked GREAT today. For right now he should be the 4th starter till Clemens gets here. As far as the 5th spot goes to Igawa I guess, but maybe if DeSalvo pitches well he can earn another start, but you probably give Kei another chance to try and redeem himself.

Bottom liner though, I can't help but fantasize over the rotation of Wang, Clemens, Pettitte, Moose and possibly Hughes. Oh man, this is going to be GREAT!

I'm pretty sure DeSalvo isn't currently on the 25. So someone has to go down now so he can start. It should be Igawa, but it will be Rasner.

Rasner doesn't get enough credit. The kid may not have the best stuff, but he knows how to pitch. And he's also going back to the minors so they can call up DeSalvo?

It should be Myers or Igawa getting the boot, but they can't do that so it has to be Rasner. :no1:

Once we get Clemens, Razner's yer perfect long man/spot starter.

Igawa should be "working out the kinks" (permanantly) in the minors to make room for Razner.

and Myers should be traded or released to make room for a Yankee Clippard or Britton.

I'd go to war with:

Wang
Clemens
Pettite
Moose
Hughes

Mo
Bruney
Proctor
Farnsworth
Henn
Razner
Britton or Clippard
Vizciano mop up.

Torre said he'll wait until tomorrow to decide what to do when DeSalvo needs a roster spot. Hopefully it's Igawa.

That would be wise...I agree with YB, felt Rasner should be the long man out of the pen.

I agree, but Myers would have to be gone for that to happen. Maybe Myers and Vizciano can be packaged for something with Rasner and Britton taking their spots.

I doubt we'd get anything worthwhile for those two useless fecks.

You're right, but we'd get Razner and Britton, and might get lucky with whatever comes our way. Say what you will about cash, but minor trades almost always go in his favor.

Shove Igawa down to the minors (Single A Tampa :hehe: ) "to work on his mechanics" with Billy Conners. I believe they did it with Contreras and Vasquez and no reason they can't do it with Igawa. :peace:

Nardi Contreras is the pitching guru. Connors is gone I'm pretty sure.

What was he doing? Everyone is on the Yankees payroll. What I meant was I'm pretty sure he doesn't touch the pitchers anymore, but I could be wrong I guess. Either way he's not the main guy for that anymore.

I honestly think with Rasner it's like playing with fire. I'd like to stop using him in starts ASAP, but he is gritty and has gotten away with real mediocre stuff so far, and our staff is too bad right now to not use him. I just hope Torre doesn't get to liking the guy, and all of a sudden he's getting more opportunities than he deserves.

yeah, other than the great control and good curve he isn't much stuff wise, but I think if Igawa is the alternative you have to stick with Rasner for a little while. He won't walk everybody and their mother like Igawa or give up moonshots(usually). I think he can scrap out a string of acceptable starts. His next start would be against seattle in safeco so I wouldn't worry too much about that, but the next three would be against Chicago, Boston, Toronto unless something changes. After that Clemens will be ready and Hughes should be back. Other alternatives are Igawa, Clippard, Ohlendorf, or Wright again.

I can live with Vizcaino, maybe he will turn it around, but is anyone more useless then Myers??? Get him the f*ck off my team, his only job is to get out righties. He can never get out Papi and gotta love that bomb he gave up to Crawford which cost us a game earlier this year!

Rasner's the perfect guy to have in the pen when your starter only goes 4 and it's not that close of a game. Just eat up some innings out of the pen, keep the game manageable and with our offense you never know.
