Thank you for that uncharacteristic display of logical thinking. Think of it this way, if someone flips over to the game and hears "perfect game" they are going to keep listening. If they flip over and the announcer is tapdancing around saying "perfect game" they may not. You have to tell the audience what is going on, and assume people aren't listening to every single pitch. This is especially true for radio broadcasters, who have listeners coming and going throughout the game, especially on a Saturday afternoon when people may be out and about, driving around, etc. |
