They're f*cking 8-9. Wang is coming back tomorrow and Moose is on the way. This is so stupid.

His normal day to pitch is today. He'll be on 8 days rest :-|

In the Yankees defense he got two Ks with his Changeup and threw most of them for strikes with good command in his last start. That said its stupid to not wait for him to show some consistancy with it.

I'm for this. Quit farting around. Scouts already say the guy can be in the biigs. the Yankees need the arms. I'd rather see what we got. If he's a solid pitcher, it would have been a waste to keep him away from the Big League club. Who knows what a an extra few wins by Hughes presence can mean in the long run.

Few 20 year olds succeed in the bigs, but if you base the decision on pitching....stuff, results, poise, and intellegence... then he has nothing left to prove. If they f*ck with his pitch limit I will be annoyed though. A team with a problem with Starting Pitchers not throwing enough innings shouldn't bring up a 20 year old on a strict pitch count. I also don't like that they are making him pitch on 8 days rest.

I'm not sure if I like it or not. He is unlikely to hurt the team as the 4th or 5th starter, so either way he'll get some much needed experience. Is the game home or away. If its home I'm going.

I'm not nuts about this.

I hope its about him being ready though - not about needing him right now.

Where's Rocket anyway?

I wouldn't mind throwing Hughes into the bullpen either if he's just a decent starter and we get our guys back. He'd probably be very valuable in the midlde innings.

It's a home game.

I'm torn. On the one hand I'm broke, I have grad school class, and I really want to be able to see what his pitches look like which is hard live unless you have the right seats....On the other hand I really want to be able to say I was at his first start...good or bad.

you forgot the part about Igawa sucks, Rasner sucks etc. I like this move. He and Bean will solidify the back end of the rotation. ;)

Rasner wasn't that terrible, but the Yankees are getting to the point where innings are actually more important than how well a guy pitches, which makes this move a bit of a head scratcher, but what the hell, give the kid(or guy thats 3 years younger than me) a shot.

If they bring up Hughes....I want Clemens here so Him and Pettite can help the kid become a bulldog. At this point there is no sense in even expecting anything out of the rest of this pathetic rotation, creaky, or overpaid whores, say what you like about Rocket....he leaves it all on the mound every time, and someone seems to light him up....they will pay for it.

I agree with all of that. Send Igawa down for a while if need be.

Hughes will be on the mound in the 5th with 6K's, 1ER and 2BB and the Yanks will have a 4-1 lead and Torre will take him out and bring in Pettitte in relief.

Maybe Joe will want Igawa to go down to Scranton but Steinbrenner wants him to go to Tampa and Torre will actually get fired this time

He couldn't be worse than that dipshit Vizcaino.
