None of us expected much out of this team going into Fenway with the matchups the way they are. What I see is that Schilling is no longer guaranteed against the Yankees. He's not as powering as he was in the past and we can get to him now. Beckett, I'm still not convinced whether he will truly ever emerge into an ace, since his fastball is very hittable a lot of the time. He couldn't even dominate a decimated lineup. As far as Dice-K so far, this team can wait him out if he has control issues and cause damage, although I feel he'll be like 4-0 against us this year. The Red Sox fans, the scum they are, might relish this sweep, but I'm thinking long-term. They own us in April anyways. Get ourselves at full strength, I'm not fearing their pitching. Plus, Pettitte's looking like the clutch Pettitte.

Torre needs to stop taking Pettitte out to early. He could have pitched the 8th against Oakland, and he should have finished the 7th Friday vs Boston. Then Proctor the 8th. Instead, stupid Torre took him out and wasted Proctor in the 7th when he didn't need him.

Schilling isn't the same pitcher, he's lost miles on his fastball and his control is NOWHERE near what it used to be. Good teams will hit him. Beckett is Beckett, and we'll see about Dice-K.

What I saw of Schilling though is he's more complete a pitcher now. He made Texas look silly switching speeds and sh*t. But against us, he needs to be able to dig deep and blow a fastball bye our hitters. He don't seem to be able to do that anymore, which is why we're able to get to him. His control is still top notch. 28 BB in 200 IP last year. It's just his fastball don't have that late pop or extra zip and it works against him more than usual, especially against us, since he's so often around the strikezone. Kind of how Mussina's good control works against him, since there's no mystery, and his stuff has desolved.

I might catch heat for this and sound biased because he's a Red Sock, but I'm trying to be objective. Is anyone else surprised Papelbon dominates the way he does? He's got a good mid 90s fastball with some late zip and a nasty splitter. But the guy to me shouldn't be among the top tier of closers. I just don't watch him and go "Wow, he's filthy" like I do when I see other closers. I guess it's just consistancy.

The Sox will be a tough team to shake the way they've been pitching.

He's got sick control/command to go with his good(but like you said, not insane) stuff, but I agree with you. He shouldn't and probably won't stay this rediculously good. He'll be really good, but not this dominant.

The bad part is their pitching will get them a lot of wins. I just don't think it's as formidable against us when we got a full lineup.

True, but when they're not facing us they will do damage.

With all those pitches he really should be a starter. I mean a lights out closer is important, especially with their pen, but I feel its a waste for a guy with 4 plus pitches to be in the pen

All I'm taking from this weekend is that with the limp wristed bitches we have in the bullpen it doesn't matter how much we hit the Red Sox starters or how good our starting pitchers do. Torre will give the quick hook and pieces of sh*t like Vizcaino, Proctor, Farnsworthless, Myers, and Rivera (he's gutless against Boston) will hand the lead back.

I agree Dr. - There were positives.

Our battered lineup got through to all three of their starters.

And it won't matter as long as all our pitchers (besides Pettitte) continue to throw like women, and Rivera continues to be a gutless bitch against Boston.

While you and I usually agree on pitching, you're wrong on this on this one 03.

The words gutless and Rivera never go together. Ever.

Lifetime pass.

He had a lifetime pass with me until he started crying like a huge f*cking bitch this spring about his contract.

He needs to shut the f*ck up and shape up, he's pitched like sh*t thus far. He wants a new contract? Earn it.
