Ortiz was batting .182 against lefties coming into this series. .333 against righties. Maybe Chase gets lucky. |

Yes, this season that's what his numbers were coming into this series. Also Manny was batting .200 on both Turf and on grass. I looked it up to see if bringing in a lefty specialist really mattered against Ortiz because he's so good. I looked up Manny to see if it was worth it to take that lefty out or leave him in to face Drew. I know you don't care, but just in case you wanted to know I told you. I got the numbers from CBS sportsline if you want to check. |

I'm not calling you a liar. I'm just saying that we couldn't stop Ortiz if he were in a wheelchair. |

Yeah, I'm glad we have Nick Johnson instead. He's the future. |

Yeah and on a bad day and over 100 pitches, he's starting the 8th. Can that be the same for Yankee pitchers? AND BTW: I'm a Yankee fan and now I hate Matzuzaka as I deem him an extreme enemy.....I just want the Yankee management to start thinking out of the box.... |

The Yankees put in an agressive bid, it wasn't their fault the Red Sox went overboard. I can't kill the front office for not getting him. |

I don't know. Let's see mid year and end of year if Igawa does a good enough job for the 5th starting position. |

Stop, please. I know you like these Japanese guys, that's fine, but Igawa is pure garbage. I'm sure he'll be as bad as Hideki Irabu was. Hopefully he goes back to Japan as soon as his ridiculous contract is up. |

Igawa has the potential to be a solid 5th starter. You saw last start when he keeps his pitches down he can be successful. And whether or not they did overpay he's showing he can stay healthy after 3 starts in a row which looking at our staff is apparently harder than it looks. |

Actually, we'll be damn lucky if he's as good as Irabu, who was 29-20 as a Yankee. :no1: |

Yeah, the Yankees really need a hard throwing ace for the start of the rotation. Someone who the whole league is afraid of. I could deal with Wang, Moose, Pettitte, whoever, if the Yankees had just one dominant ace. |

And that's exactly the problem with signing him MooMoo. For 46 million you don't sign a guy with the "potential" to be a 5th starter - You sign a fifth starter at least. |
