| Do We Steal Any In Fenway? | |

With the Saturday and Sunday matchups the way they are, I can easily see us getting swept. It wouldn't totally bother me at this point, since it's early, we're shorthanded, and Boston always seems to beat us first series of the year in Fenway. But usually the Yanks find a way to steal a game or two they have no business winning, ie when Pedro started against us, Al Leiter's return start, etc. Throwing tomorrow aside, since we know Pettitte could throw a gem and beat Schilling 2-1, which matchup do you think we have a better chance of stealing a win (Beckett vs Karstens or Dice Kay vs Wright)? |

I see us winning the Schilling game with an outside shot we get lucky and Becket can't command his curveball. |

I started getting the impression with Beckett in Florida, just briefly, and last with Boston last year that his fastball has a little bit of a straightness to it. Don't get me wrong, I was pissed Boston got him, but I'm hoping that's his problem. It doesn't seem to make hitters look foolish. He was painting the corners when he goes right. It explains his high ERA, inconsistancy to date, lack of K numbers and 36 HRs allowed last year. I did think in that World Series we let him off the hook too. Hopefully that's what keeps him from becoming a star. On the surface, I would say Dice Kay shuts us down, but he's had a little command issue, we could easily take advantage with one big inning, and no idea how he'll handle pressure either. |

We lose two of three for sure, I wouldn't be shocked if we get swept. |

Me either, and at this point in the season, considering the pitching matchups, it's really not a big deal. Put it this way, I'm going to the Devils game tomorrow night rather than stay home and watch the Yankees. And I hate the Devils. |

Tomorrow night's game should be the best one in the series though, at least on paper. I'm a Devils fan, but I'm going to be paying more attention to the Yankee game, unless things turn ugly. And even if it is just regular season games in April, losing a series to Boston, especially in a sweep... I'll be beyond pissed off. |

I didn't even answer my own question. I say Beckett-Karstens is the best chance of stealing one. Matsunaka-Wright reaks of a Sunday night romping where Morgan and Miller suck off Dice Kay as he makes quick work of the Yankee lineup. I'll be interested in seeing if the Yankees hit Dice Kay after they see him a game or two. He seems the type to change up and keep hitters guessing. I don't think the league will catch up to him. He's got the perfect style. |

The only way I'll be pissed is if we somehow have a lead late and we blow it. Rivera's BS at Fenway bother me more than a good romping. |

If it's 100-0 or 1-0, a loss to Boston is a loss to Boston, I don't deal with those too well. |

I understand what you're saying, but at least at 100-0, I can shut the game off in the 3rd inning and not look back and it's only one loss. Those late inning Manny hits up the middle, Ortiz HRs, Hillenbrand HR, Bill Mueller HR, etc, those sting, and it bothers me a lot more since even if I have the TV on mute like I usually do at Fenway, I can still feel those Boston f*cks getting overjoyed by the late heroics. |

That's a good point too. The late inning losses definitely sting more. |

Yes, and I wanted to beat the living sh*t out of Torre, Vizcaino (gutless c u n t) and Rivera. All three of them are on the shitlist right now. Torre's been there for a while now though. |
