Analysis: The Phillies win the award for most shocking news in the early part of the season. Myers is considered by many to be the ace of the Phillies staff, so to take him out of the rotation and put him in the bullpen is extremely shocking. Not to mention devastating to Fantasy lineups. Who knows how long the Phillies will keep Myers out of the rotation, but Fantasy owners can no longer count on him for starter innings. We expect him to go back into the rotation at some point, but now is nothing more than a middle relief option. Stash him in deep Fantasy leagues if you can for what should be his inevitable return to the rotation.

Myers for Farnsworth and Prospect - they obviously have idea what's going on in Filthy

If he's not good for the Phillies, why would he be good for us?

:please: Cole Hamels is the one to target. I'd trade them Farnsworth and ANY prospect except Hughes (yes Homie, even Tabitha) for Cole Feckin Hamels. :agent:

Put down the Old Milwaukee ya old coot...the Phillies aren't parting with Hamels.

Why would the Phillies deal any starting pitching this early in the season anyway?

If Phillie is moving him to the pen, maybe he is available, since that's stupidity. Farnsworth plus prospects is worth a shot.

I agree. I don't care how bad your pen is, putting Myers in it doesn't make sense. I say after they ask for Hughes and Tabata counter with Farnsworth and one of the non Hughes AAA starters and see what else they want.

For some reason I feel like this will end up like Pinella starting the relievers and not last long.

I wouldn't trade Tabata and Ohlendorf for Myers. Tabata has too much potential to be traded for a guy who was demoted in favor of John Fat Lieber. I do like the idea of Farnsworth headlining a deal with maybe a Matt DeSalvo and another player of his caliber for him.

My concern for Myers is he's a bit of a hothead, headcase. They talk about his boxing background, and you can tell he loses focus and gets pissed on the mound, becoming a thrower. Wrong type of mentality in NY, hearing the boos. His numbers haven't been what they could be. I wouldn't be dealing Tabata for him for sure, since I like what I hear. I don't know much about the AZ guy, but I'd be OK him and Farnsworth plus some minor sh*t

The Yankee line up is going to wait out Dice-K and he'll end up throwing 100 pitches through 4 innings. Look for Chase picking up the Win Sunday.

With Wang and Mussina on the DL and Hughes in AAA.

I'd do that kind of package for Cole Hamels or an equivalent caliber starter, nothing less. And as ole man MM has pointed out, those kinda guys aren't available. :peace:
