I'm posting this in the MLB Talk forum because I'm not out to rub salt in Mets' fans wounds right now.

Beltran just cemented his place with Mets fans. He cannot go up there with the winning runs on base and strike out looking, staring at a 3rd strike. Just can't.

That was my initial though as well. What a disgrace, you CAN"T stand there looking. Swing the f*cking bat, a f*cking bloob hit ties the damn game! I'd be pissed if I was a Muet fan right now!

That's putting it mildly.

It was a good pitch, but no way Beltran should be looking fastball in that situation...It is pretty obvious he was guessing by the way he just locked up on that pitch.....And he was guessing the wrong way....I think everybody in the park knew the deuce was coming except Carlos....Good pitch, but you have to swing the bat...

Ah, it'll be alright Muet fans....You are probly a year or two ahead of schedule......And if you didnt lose Pedro, Duque and Floyd you guys are pouring champagne right now anyway....And Wright and Reyes are 2 bright shining stars even though they had a rough time for most of the postseason...And you may have found 2 young keepers in Maine and Oliver.....

And ya think alot of GM's are wondering why they didnt give Willie a chance sooner??

Lots of upside, I know it hurts right now, but give it a week......Nice season, bright future.....They will be back...

You try hitting that curveball.

I'm not getting paid to do it.

He shouldn't be guessing with 2 strikes, he's gotta find a way to foul it off.

He also took an 84 MPH meatball down the middle for strike one, and chased a curve for strike two.

If Jeter had that AB in that spot, you wouldn't stop talking about it until February, and you know it.

Beltran had his head up his ass there. I doubt Willie said anything to him, but seriously, even if it's a weak hack, make it look like you're trying. That was disgraceful.

Not if he got froze on a pitch like that. f*ck Jeter anyway. I'm finished with him.

I spent some time tonight on Mets boards shooting down the unbearable sunshiners. I brought up the point you can’t keep the bat on you shoulder there unless you’re Eddie Gaedel. Beltran’s job was to go up their and try to drive the ball and when he had two strikes on him try and protect the plate. He should have hit the 1st pitch hard some where.. You can’t compare the 7th game of the LCS with some night in July like some of the sunshiners were doing.

Beltran had a great year for the Mets and actually had a decent post season run until that at bat and shouldn’t be booed next year. But that at bat sucked and will not be forgotten..

However there was enough blame to go around in this series. From his performances in this series Wagner showed why he should take his sandman theme and shove it up his ass. David Wright spent too much time this year with extraneous bs and should realize that NY has a way of making players seem great before they actually are. And Trax should just leave town.
