All of La Russa’s moves worked tonight. The Cardinals came back when their ace pitcher had a bad night. Maine couldn’t find the strike zone and sucked big time. Wagner proved why he is not the real Sandman. But Willie lost this game. He is in love with Mota. This is the 2nd game in the playoffs that Mota has blown a late lead. Willie thinks Mota is better than Heilman. But Heilman is the guy that helped get the Mets here. You go with girl you brought to the dance. If Heilman comes in when Mota starts to fail the Mets go into the 9th with a 2 run lead and who knows what happens. |

Tough loss, but I still say the Mets win this series in 6 which is what I called for before it started. You are right, Willie does manage a lot like Torre, and that is NOT a good thing!!!!! Heilman should be the guy in that spot, tough job there. Wagner was flat out bad, but nights like this will happen and to his defense it wasn't a save situation and alot of closers strugle when it's a tie game. With that being said this is October, you have to gut up and keep it knotted!!!! This would have been a HUGE win for the Mets. To have a chance to win with Maine starting against their Ace and have the lead late in the game, would have been a DAGGER! I think the Mets take 2 of 3 in St Louis and win it back at home in Shea. |

Sori, it’s a shame when you and I who both spend most of our time in the Yankees forum are the only ones posting on a playoff game. BTW Soriano turned down a 5 year, 70 million contract with Washington today. |

They didn't send any type of message, this was more with Willie's mistakes and 2 of our big parts of our bullpen not getting it done, La Russa brings Carpenter in early where history shown that the home/road splits were badly dramatic, and nearly got burned big time for it, blew multiple leads, and burned out our bullpen with at least 3 more games in a row left, horrible loss! :furious: |

It's always tough to go on the road and win three straight. It can be done though, and if anyone can give that up it's the Cardinals. I just don't liketheir team at all, I thought I was being kind giving them two games in this series. |
