To success for us in the postseason? Is it maybe one bullpen guy that will be ultra-significant in holding leads for Billy? Is it that bench guy who can give us pinch-hits and power in a big situation? Or is it the guy(s) in the starting lineup who will carry the club from game to game? I think Julio Franco will play a big part in this thing for us off the bench........watch him have a huge postseason and be in on the big plays. Thoughts? |

I didn't say it was. But without him we may not have a 9th inning win or a big go-ahead pinch hit in the 6th. |

I do think the success of Beltran-Wright-Reyes is the determining factor though, in the long run. If those three guys keep up their dominance of the regular season, I see no problems for us. |

Our starting pitching needs to step up, because we can't afford to depend on our lineup stepping up every playoff game |

The bullpen will be there. As will the offense. I also believe Glavine will do very well. To me, the question is, which starter steps up and pitches big to balance off L.A.'s Lowe and Maddux? I personally believe the only advantage L.A has in this series is there game 1 starter. That could be a big advantage. Could set tone. Maddux and Glavine are a wash. Trachsel and Kuo are a wash. Mets have the better offense and bullpen. |

I have full confidence.......Pedro's absence is not a huge thing......I think the playoff experience of El Duque and Glavine will be huge. Watch for Trachsel to step up in a big way. And I love John Maine. |

In game one Lo Duca will have to throw some base runners out. I expect the Dodgers to run crazy on El Dugue and Lo Duca. The key in the series is our bp and hitting. They will have to overcome the Mets SP deficiencies. |
