Well, he played well enough to win it, he just had Womack in front of him thanks to the Tampa Connection.

By the way, I was talking about this a few minutes ago, can you imagine if Womack had played well and the Yankees got off to a good start last year instead of 11-19?

Cano probably ends up getting traded for the VC's flavor-of-the-month.

Good f*ckin point terp....Yankees should really test out their goods as much as possible. Fox guys didn't mention quite emphatically that everyone mentions their payroll, but they did point out our home grown guys and are recent young stud superstars.

I love the payroll argument against the Yankees, then look at the starting lineups for both teams yesterday:

Yankees homegrown players - Jeter, Bernie, Cano, Posada, Melky
Red Sox homegrown players - Youkilis

Incidentally, i'm beginning to think that even if both Matsui and Sheffield come back, Melky needs to remain in the lineup. He's better defensively than both of them, and gives the lineup something different at the bottom.

They can alternate the DH between Sheff and Giambi, with Giambi playing first on days Sheff DH's.
