Jorge pissed at his former pitcher

You can read Jorge's lips and even hear it a little after Lilly the ball over his head.

"Hey Ted! Throw it over the f*cking plate! That's the second f*cking time!"

I wonder if they didn't see eye to eye as Yankees or this is something that has escalated since Lilly was dealt.

Yeah, that was great. Jorge can be a dick on the field some times and you know what, I like it. He got him and Bernie some really hittable outside corner pitches and they both hit better from the right side.

Of course, Jorge shows the fire the VC craves. Nobody likes to give Posada credit for anything. I think Clemens loving the guy shows how important he's been over time. He's also done a great job this year after showing some signs of wearing down last year, which was scary for a 34 year old catcher.

.280 .321 .416 = Bengie Molina
.286 .389 .462 = Jorge Posada

Right now I'm glad things turned out the way they did. There isn't anybody on the FA market this year I'd rather have for next year then Jorge, so the option no longer bothers me much.

I'll admit, I wanted Molina badly but he isn't hitting as well and I don't think he's even throwing runners out at the rate Jorge is this year.

There is a reason he stayed on the market so long. Teams are down on him.

Yeah, I am ok with another year of him now. There needs to be someone in the mix better than Stinnett next year though, just in case.

He's not doing anything as well as he used to. His fatassness(tm) has probably led him to decline at a quicker rate than Jorge, who is still contributing well at 35.

Actually this is about what he usually does. Infact he's getting on base more then usual. His assumed value just way overshot his actual value. I wanted him bad too until I really looked at how he hit. He's never been all that good of a hitter.

Agreed. I really only wanted him once his value was shot. He was begging for a one year deal, which I thought was worth it.

Yeah, he was totally worth that, but then you risk both walking after the year is done and not having a catcher for 07. If Jorge would have been cool with only catching about 60 games it would have been cool.

Maybe he did, maybe he didn't, who cares, it worked.
